It is outdated. Their used to be heavy weapon enhancements that commandos could craft, but they were taken out. That is prob. where the idea for eng. Came from. No idea when they decided to scrap it though.

We did up until 2 weeks left in beta3 when they redid the entire commando class.

The class was entirely based on combat exp, there was a crafting line ( replaced by the har ) and a grenades line (replaced by the FT line). Flamer + Har had no real specials that were worth it, hell..... we didn't even get our weapons until the very last week when the resources finally shifted ( after 3 yrs of beta ).

It was something like novice commando 5k combat exp, tier 1 - 6k, tier 2 8k, tier 3 10k, tier 4 15k combat exp / level. And back then on endor if you touched a mob while your whole group fought it you could get 300-420 combat exp / kill. So you were basically a glorified master marksman heh. But it was still fun causing the prettiest fireworks display.

Regardless of anything else, we still put on the trippiest light show of any class hands down.

Yep, the flamethrower special effects were always awesome...the flamethorwer damage, on the other hand...let's just say that chuba are tougher than they look.
