For those who say he is what do you consider a non support class to be? Only BH?

People like wolve44 are saying that commandos are a support class. I want to know what he does not consider a support class.

We aren't a support class.... we are a high damage/low accuracy/low speed class.

It's funny, but since this patch, I've been laughed at almost as much as when we were completely ineffective, so i guess we're supposed to go back to being the Jesters of the combat professions..

Oh.. and usually i wouldn't let such stupidity bug me...but I haven't lost a duel since the patch, and the dead jokers are starting to pile up....

no other profession requires more COMBAT related skill points than commando.

Commando requires 169 combat related skill points. . . inother words all of them. To clarify what I mean by "combat points" I mean points that are spent in the actual killing of something.

Bounty Hunter is second with 125

You are about as much a "support" class as they are.

Perhaps he was referring to your role. If that's the case then EVERY class is a support class since no profession (save bounty hunter) is meant to be mainly solo.

Except the melee damage issue isn't really critical in PvP, because it doesn't change much. First of all, most PvP is not done in melee, excepting CH which can do "melee" at range. The other reason it makes little difference between before and after patch, is even before the patch, Commandos relied on the "one hit kill". If a Commando didn't torch certain brawler professions immediately, there was a very good chance the Commando wouldn't get the chance to fire a second shot. Post-patch, it just puts the nails in the coffin.

The issue is in PvE, where 90% of enemies deal melee damage, and 95% of them run faster than the Commando.

Chin up guys and gals. It is bad but not the end of the world. Play the ends against the middle. I have found that when i run with other playerin PvEnow and let them have the first shots at themobsi am able to side step most mobs and either flame2 them or flame cone them with out drawing much attention to myself. In essence all the guys who have called for the commando nerfs are now running as my "tank". They take the damage and I have been just as effective at close contact using my specials as before. It is almost poetic.

In solo, run with the launcher pistol (or pistol of choice). The AI will have the mobs attack at long range and not go immediately to melee (usually) then switch to FT fire 2 or 3 times at long range and use specials when the mobs come into range. Switch back to launcher and fight melee. It appears that the melee damagepenalty is in effect during the the time the specials still appear in the queue but you are in a good position to survive and win the fight.
