Thread: Mission Payouts VS Consumable Weaponry

With the recent "nerf" of mission payouts it is nearly impossible to be able to afford consumable weapons. Weaponsmiths charge in the range of 35K to 75K credits for a single Rocket Launcher (atleast on Starsider) and other consumable weaponry come at cost ranging 25K to 45K. Weapons are only the tip of the sword when it comes to purchasing sets of armor every 2 weeks or so due to condition wearing down.

So on (rough estimates here do not quote me) if I was to only purchase 1 of each consumable per month that would run me on average 125K? I wear (basically) Advance Ubese Armor that likes to wear down to 0 condition in about 2 weeks time (sometimes shorter) that cost me around 50K for a full set; so 100K a month for Armor. So on average I have to earn 7K a day from missions (based on a 31 day calender). That number is based off of if you dont have any extra expenditures... House... Spice.... Food/Drink... Etc.

That is cutting it a bit close consider SOE wants everyone to attend in on Events (Monthly Stories), and the GCW (dont gain money in PvP). I would be fine with this "nerf" so to speak if Commandos were given "Commando Missions" to earn extra cash. I know I know it has been mentioned here 100,001 times, but I felt like giving a point of view from my current perspective.

Any comments, suggestions, please feel free to post. I am not looking to start a flame war

right now only rebel missions are my source of cash. I cannot solo the 3 to 6k missions because nests will either swarm you (torturs all the sudden swarm.. wow) or warp into your face... or run you down and hit you real hard to the point where even if you kill 1 tortur and live, your ham bars will be around 20% forcing you to sit for long periods of time. Making each mission take around 30 minutes before you can clean the nest.

OR alternatively, just go banzai and 'herd' the mobs into one little tight group, flame cone them, get incap and watch them die. You can clean a nest in .. about 20 minutes (must wait 10 minutes after 2nd incap to avoid dying on 3rd incap). And for your 20 minutes efforts.. 3 to 5k.

Its not fun at all to have to resort to exploiting the game to be able to make money. Grouping now is pointless as well, you will end up constantly running back after cloning because you died to 2 bites of a lev 60+ mob. And miss the payout and miss most of the xp if you get knocked out when the nest is first tapped.

Consumables offer'd a way out... a single HPBC can take out a tortur bull with one shot. But at the nest spawn rate.. about 4 torturs per 'pop' , 3 'pops' before nest runs out, you end up using 12 of the 30 charges to clear a nest.

And paying around 10 to 15k for the HPBC @ 30 charges, you will waste half your shots right there at a cost of 5k or 7.5k ... to get a mission payout of 3-6k only. And thats IF you dont miss a single time (and you will miss at least 1 or 2 of the hpbc shots per nest). So in essence, the payout barely covers the use of the expendables.

Grenades leave a tortur hurt but not dead, making you shoot it a few times to bring it down (and since we dont control what HAM we can hit, it becomes even more dangerous since more shots are needed)...and by that time the tortur will usually have run you down and seriously hurt you or has warped to your face and incap'd you.

Only CH/ Commandos can solo now. I use traps a lot but i find they don't help you when the teleporting mobs will teleport to you and THEN become trapped... hitting you twice or even incap'ing you before you can react (since traps STOP you char and you must wait for the entire trap throw animation before you can move again).

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

I am going to have to agree that payout is an issue now days on the missions. However, I want to ask what you are doing to your armor? Now, I don't PvP, so that may be the difference between you and me. That said, I paid nearly 250k to get encumb sliced composite and don't like the idea of it wearing out. However I have not seen the wear and tear that you are talking about. Plus, are you repairing your armor periodically? I search around and find high quality armor and weapon repair tools (above 99.3 effectiveness or whatever it is called) and can usually repair armor with only minor loss to max condition. For example, before I sold my ubese chest, it was at around 10000/17350, when I repaired it, it went to 13700/13700. My composite atm has around 30000/35000, and I am guessing that I will get about 75% condition on my repairs, resulting in being able to stretch that armor until I have used over 134,000 condition. That is a long time until I need new armor.

On my last fullset of Ubese I failed to repair my Chest, Legs, and Boots (the 3 most expensive) and of course the items were no good after that... So I gave up on trying to repair stuff.
