First off let me get this right out of the way. I know how most commando's feel about us "dabblers". That's ok, I'm willing to live with the fact you dont like me much. Be it, I dont know why seeing as we went through the same pains as you, but any ways
Dear Thunderheart and Dev team:
After 2 days of non opinionated observation of game play with my beloved flame thrower I have a couple things to say. Let me say to you that I'm not usally the whiney type that comes here and screams about every little change you do. Most I agree with. Even though, my primary skill as a creature handler was severly whacked with nerfs, I still gave it chance, and really the only issue I have there is how hard XP is to obtain now. Crawling up the skill tree in CH is just that, Crawling. However, I did not run to the boards and start screaming, as over all the changes were good.
Changes I've noticed to the commando flame thrower are horrendous. I am going to ask what may be viewed as a sarcastic question. Do the people making these changes play a commando (or other classes) on a regular basis? If they do, the guy that plays commando needs to rethink which class he will evaluate from now on.
PVE changes are not "horrible" for damage seems to be almost on par with what we had before. Sure the dot does not seem to be stacking as we were told, but for the most part it still does decent damage to NPC'S and we commando's can get the job done fairly well still. Multiple mobs are a different story, and useing cone special is not near as effective.
PVP changes are in a word WHACK!. I worked hard to get to the top of the flame thrower line. When I got flame 3 about a week ago, I got a taste of just what a commando could do in PVP and I liked it. Could not wait to get Flame 4 nailed down. I obtain flame 4 the day before this last publish. I immediately go OVERT to try her out. What a thing of beauty it was! I was suddenly effective in PVP and had a place in the GCW. Doing 2,000, 3,000 or more damage was great, along with watching people run around and "burn" But then, the I wake up.
The very next day you put out this new publish with it's changes to the flame thrower. Oh boy, now I'm unsure what to do. IN PVP with the change, I'm lucky to hit most player characters for 200, to 300 damage. I get in the occasional 1,000 damage. I now almost never see any one "burning" as it were, and what once wasa good defense (cone) is now pointless. The dots in pvp seem to have little to no effect, and when it does people are just "putting the flames out". I died more times last night than I care to recall.
TK's for example now run up to us with little to no fear (pretty much they always have anyway) use knock down, dizzy, blind and well, in three hits we are on a trip the clone center. Does this make any sense? They do 1,000's of damage and we do 200?
At this point my old trusty blaster from my master marksman days is more effective (no joke). Please tell me that you guys really made a mistake and soon (very soon) a patch will be forthcoming to rectify this.
Thanks for your time,
Polaris Newstar, Flurry
