Double entered again.

Ok I have a resonably nice flame thrower im trying to grind my way through commando with. It does around 900 max damage. I dueled someone with this and hit the guy (without armor) for almost 2k (1982)of damage with flame one.

2k?? Isn't that a little severe?? I mean after 75% reduction and all thats alot of damage this guy took. And he had a 400 point burn on him to boot.

To me it looks like the devs efforts to balance things out have again thrown things out of balance. This is nuts. I can almost one shot a buffed person with this. I can only imagine what flame two of anything will bring.

This is probably old news by now. Im just throwing up a flag here. Prepare for a new round of nerf calling.

that's all good and well, but you have to take a lot of things into consideration. first is, most people are buffed when they go to pvp. if you're not buffed, prepare to die fast. second, we still have to get within 16m to use our special. that's not always easy when a ranged profession is kiting you, or you get dizzy/kd'd by a melee profession. third, we still have to hit. our weapon is still highly inaccurate, even at master. so if we get within 16m of a non buffed person, there's still a chance that we'll miss, giving our opponent to do whatever is necessary to think of something to do.

LOL. I have used the flame thrower enough over the past two days to realize that its not very accurate. I have been playing the game since aug as a carbineer so I know the values of buffs. And I find the 16m range of specials (with exception of overcharge shot2) to be a pain in the butt so Im also grinding tka and pistoller to help me survive to the target and help keep me alive as I wait 12 sec to attack again with any weapon.(TH I don't know what you were impplying but the tactics you suggested for commando are compleat crap considering the huge time delay even when switching weapons. That also suggests to me that you don't know very much about the profession.)

I am saying that in my case where I did get lucky and I did hit this BUFFED and NON ARMORED guy I took his ham down easily by 2/3 rds. Armor will dampen the blow but the damage they will take after armor will possibly be massive. And because sometimes we get lucky and actually hit something that doesn't dodge, counterattack, or whatever there is going to be some massive damage done. Because of being lucky there will be alot of nerf calling.

yeah at first, commando's timely attacks suck, but after awhile they are worth it. Some people say that they are too powerful, while others say that they arent powerful enough. I dont know about anyone else, but im happy with my flamethrower.(im not going to talk about the other commando weapons *thumbs down*) Once you get the flamethrower tree done it is worth the stress. The other day i killed TKA master with my flame single 2. Thats how its suppose to be, and if i miss once in a while..All well. that my own ass.(but you do miss ALOT in the lower skill boxes). Also commandos in this game are best in a group. You do the heavy damage and DoT, while the rest of the group watches your back while you "reload".Celic Krawl-Master Commando-Imperial Army- 2nd Lt.

I like the sounds the flame thrower makes. Too bad there isn't an area effect when not using specials. LOL kind of like the launcher pistol. The animations suggest a blast but the reality says its simply not so.

I have Tested the Flamethrower Vs TKAs and Ranged attacks. In my Results I have won every Battle I have came across. But, The Bad thing when Commandos Duel People with a Flamethrower and they hit with thier Flame attack its certain death. Even if the Commando gets knocked Down or Dizzy. The Flame ticks off your life and gives you terrible wound damage. An Unbuffed TKA with no Heat Resist took 90% wounds from 1 Flame attack. He was able to Knock me down but, the flame damaged killed him. Then I fought a TKA with Heat Resists. Results were hetook 55% wound Damage and Death from the Flame ticks.

Now When I fought Ranged People. Commando are Effective at 16M or Less and Ranged Classes are deadly outside 40M. In the open terrain Commando's were easy prey to thier ranged shots. But, If you can use your terrain effectively and force your party into that 16M combat then you might be able to take him down.

Untill the Commando's Can get Ranged skill shots they willremain among the weakest PvP classes in the Game. Riflemen OWN all hands down. But, If you put a wall in between you and him and force him into a close quarter combat (Which no smart riflemen will do) you can even the odds. His range sucks at Close range when yours improves.

Yea, our 12 second wait time kind of sucks with a pistoleer can get off a shot every 1.2 seconds or faster.

I like Commando's Vs PvE we Own hands down. In PvP unless we get that first flame shot we are TOAST!

You guys decide what you want.. I will be doing more testing with more ranged classes and I will post my results later on.

Hope this isnt a second post.

If you did a 6k dmg shot to somone wearing half decent armor like say 65% composite (if you dont pvp with armor or buffed you dont pvp you just die) it would be around 390dmg i believe, someone with 75% composite will only take around 250dmg or so. And i think the flame dot is about 1/6thof the actual dmg that goes threw since patch, thats a guess though

Thats not including mitigation and other stuff.

Again armor is 25% for light armor rating, then the percentage to that attack(65%, in the above case), dont forget the -75% all pvp thats added up before it gets to your armor.

I'm not sure what to say about this profession atm

all I've noticed is people can shrug off a flame dot now

we're dangerous with this thing when we hit something.

I tested kd/burn on a guildmate and blasted him for close to 5k damage.

pve well, lets say it hurts, using a high end flamethrower(1000+) you can kd and burn things for 10-19k maybe more.

my only complaint is that on pvp, people will wear armor/buff/food... and well that dots aren't going to be effective, but that's the same with other professions atm. Well most that I know of.
