Okay so I have been reading the threads to pass the time at work...

And I noticed that a lot of folks keep mentioning that the place most people call "Ben Kenobi's" hut is not really the place. The "real" place is somewhere west of Bestine and ejects folks who try to walk in.

Now that being said...

From day one I have been searching out the Jedi...I am an RPer so I went to all the places and POIs, especially on Tatooine which was all well and good. I could not find Ben's place though. A Bothan scout friend of mine did find the "normal" hut by accident and when he hit CTRL-M it said "Ben Kenobi's Home". I rushed over there but when I hit CTRL-M I saw nothing.

So I started exploring around the area and came upon the "real" Ben Kenobi's home...interestingly enough if you look in the Collector's Edition art book it is a direct representation of the photo there (in movie photo, no ingame photo shown...interesting). Now here is the kicker...I walked right in. Not only that but so did my Bothan friend who up until that point we had done almost everything together and gone to all the same places.

Just to head everyone off at the pass...I was a Novice TKA at the time. I have no HERO badges and I am an officer (2nd Lt) in the Rebellion although at that time I am pretty sure I was unaligned. I have used two holocrons to date...the first told me Master Scout...the second told me Master Smuggler.

I was a TKA 2-2-1-2/Pistoleer 0-0-0-1/Smuggler 0-0-2-0/ Scout 4-0-0-4/Novice Medic/Commando 0-0-2-0/Master Marksman at the the time of the first holo. I started out a Brawler on Tatooine (Mos Eisley I believe).

Currently I am a TKA 2-2-2-2/Master Scout/Novice Medic/Marksmen 3-4-1-4/Smuggler 0-1-3-4

Not sure it means anything...just trying to contribute.

Where I was there I could see an NPC in the hut on the map. Did you talk to an NPC in the hut?

or better yet, could you provide a waypoint and make it alot easier for other people to check?

I was thinking that was his house as well....it's only about what 1-2k north of all the wps that people say are his house? I was burst running into it trying to get into the back room to see if anything was there before i got ejected (was never able to see anything). So is there anything in there? Gonna have to go back and check it out again.

Right before you go in, disconnect your cable modem. Then you can go in.

If someone else doesn't post a WP for it by morning, I'll post it. (can't now cause i'm at work =/) It looks like a normal small tat house, there's some stone posts in a half-moon shape around it. When you go to the entrance the door opens but you can't get inside (not red like a player's house...it just kicks ya out when you try to enter). There are items on tables and stuff so it CAN'T be a player's house as there are no stairs. Both times i've been there there were mt squill almost on top of the hut. Like I said earlier, it's just north or the WP people on here have generally named 'ben's hut' and shows up on the overhead map so you should be able to find it if you look in that direction for a few mins.

The waypoint is..

-4491, -2269 on Tatooine.

Korr, I read a post recently that said that hut could be entered until one of the recent patches. Onlyafter a patchdid it start ejecting people. It sounds to me like you probably entered the hut before said patch.

Yes the big patch right before the last one made it so you couldn't go inside. Before that you could enter freely. Kinda makes you wonder eh?

hmmmm....I'm going back there when I can then lol Seems like they put alot more effort into it than they did in almost all the other POIs I've seen.

Has anyone with a silent holocron tried going in?
