Hello friends, Rebel, AND Impreial,

Iam a Master commando / Master pistoleer, who is tired of some of the things that are passed as realistic in this game. And a few tactics of people withno respect, or honor.Bear with the spelling.

I have a few concerns about the amount damage that we inflict during pvp base raids. The damage that a rocket launcher does to a humanoid flesh body, under the laws of physics, are tremendous, you are blown to pieces... yet it doesn't db.As a comparison, rifleer, with a high velocity slug, which puts a hole in the body,db's from 50+m. LAIM. If you don't like having commandos, the heavy weapon specialist, inflicting 3k damage come up with a layer for armor or a shield generator,to deal with commando weapons spacifficly. And i think thatif you are incopacitated by a rocket you should be db'd. How do you get up from being blown to pieces?

As for the flame thrower... where do i start. There are so many other guns, and otherspecials, that do more damage in PVP. Seems to me burning to death is the worst death to die, and the toughest one to heal from... there should be anegative modifier to any healing done while u are on fire.

I also am sick and tired of PVP templates designed around healing yourself, and using mind shots to out last any other profession.C'mon, lets keep the good mind shots aquired at a master level. Keep people from going 4000 rifleman just to get that snipershot, make em master rifleerto get it. Right now as it stands, to many people take rifleman just to use that shot, and they stack it with many other skills. From pistoleer 4044, half of pikeman, etc. That wayyou cant hit them from afar,so you'll never get to them to hit themin the first place. I think anyone who has to use a crutch to stand on,needs not pvp. Honor is important, other wise this game can be very NOT fun.And this level of fun should be the chief concern to the developers.

I am a commando that knows my best place. It is to focus on turrets, at-st's, andetc. But when i pvp i think i should do a little more damage. Keep it real, is a guy in armor gunna ket killed quicker by a bullet, or fire and explosive rounds? I think if you challenge a commando to a dual, you better know you have to face that kinda firepower, and think twice. The best way to make it fair in pvp,isNOT to nerf the damage we do, but to add a component you can layer into armor, to further resist flame throwers and rockets spacificly. I think that fire extinguishersare a realistic way to deal with burning, but i think it further makes a profession, that should be necessay to any group of raiding pvp'ers, into a playerless valuable, andpushed even moreto the back of the bus.I also think commandos should have a 5m buffer outside of a turrets range, so we are theONLY profession that can sit back and hit them. On a battlefield we are the ones to cleen and sweep, and secure the area, so the soldiers can move in, setup, and take control. We are the onesthat are PROTECTED,untill we cantake down the turrets, and at-st's, and soon at-sts's,so you melee guys can move in andmake a difference, andso the base takedown team can get in to start the sequence, and so on...

As it is going i see the commando being taken from more, and more. Look, you cantkill a guy with a rocket with kung -fu, or a pistol, or a carbine, or a rifle. If you want to make it more even, make a set of armor that can deal with the firepower we have, so people can set up commando killer teams.

Also Iam sick of seeing a few certain people, and u know who you are, sitting at the starport, buffed and declared, waiting for some poor guy to get off. And then kill him before his slow 56k modem loads. I am also sick of people killing afk overts. Theese 2 actions that i have just listed are the 2 MOST dishonorable things i see people do often eanough. I have been killed like that by imperials, that i thought were my friends. They endfriendships for 45 fp's. Kill me often on the battle field, not while i load, or am afk.

Theese concerns are the most forward in my mind, and i think we all need to analyze the commando profession, and make it more of a specialized field. Commando is not the best profession to go solopvp, but to be part of a elite pvp team. I think people who cry about fighting 5overts at once better come with friends, and travel in packs. Hail You.

concerning the "dont nerf the commando"...dont waste your time. its been proven time and again that the devs simply dont care about what we think.

concerning your words on honor, i totaly agree, but welcome to the internet. people can do as they please, with little fear of substancial consequences. mostly, im speaking to our younger players, but i know a few older players that have this attitude. as much as i would like to see people respect each other (even people of the opposite faction), I've come to realize thatmost people dont. a sad state of affairs, yes, but like i said, welcome to the internet.

Hehe, I've got a cool story related to starport camping. One day I logged in and was instantly KD'd at the local Starport by an overt Rebel. I tried to burst-run away, but I got KD'd again, so I had to fight. I even had my grenadier title up... and he charged me. It was the shortest starport ambush I've ever been in.

I wonder...if the Dev's had to actually go out and grind a profession from Novice to Master, would they be so quick to NERF the same profession...

I think it should be a requirement for each Dev to only NERF a profession the actually Mastered (all the way from Novice)...

The truth appears to be that the Dev's have no appreciation for our hard work to achieve the level's we've reached...so they have no ill feeling about Nerfing this and Nerfing that...and they don't seem to have the knowledge, understanding, or even the desire to find out what's broken and see it fixed...

To them it's just about hearing a whine, and Nerfing the suspected cause...TH even said himself he experienced some of the issues causing whines against our profession...but instead of talking to us about ways to make things better, he and the rest of the dev's made radical decissions without even one thought to the effect on the Commando Profession...And they can do this because they don't have an appreciation or respect for those that put in the hours to get where we have...

Anyone see a problem with that logic?

I also forgot to mention, that i think that if you were then db'd by a rocket, that you shouldn't be able to ressurect, even the best doctor couldn't put together all the pieces of you, even if he/she could find them all...

whats crazy about this nerfing is this. play jedi knights, academy or whatever. did the creators care about balance there, no they went with realism....in fact in every game from quake to jedi. look, you fire a rocket launcerh in any game from quake to the jedi games, and get a good hit, the target flies away, disintergrates etc. you shoot them in the head they get hurt. the creators KNEW that rockets are strong, fists and weapon butts suck. so why must the devs make such a big deal in this game. THEY made this beast of players who complain about guns being nerfed by NERFING them. the first time they did it, they set this up. if theyd have said NO. a rocket is deadly, a stick is not, we wouldnt be in this mess today. nuff said

I was a frustrated commando 3 months ago. I can't believe that things are actually getting worse. I thought having a guy like TH that was supposed to really learn about each profession first-hand was just what this game needed, so I was really happy when they brought him on as a dev. Now the only thing I'm really happy about is that I cancelled my account and don't have to pay them to piss me off anymore. Either TH isn't doing his **edit** job, or he doesn't have any say in what changes are being made. In any case, no one should be paying to play this crappy game.

Yes they are getting worse. Not only does TH have a say but he is "playing" a commando and is using it as a premise to being an "expert" in commando and recommending changes that in no way shape or form reflect the wishes of the Commando community.

This is why I will not be coming back to Commando. It is the red headed step child of SWG combat and in my opinion,( based on the statements and actions of the development team )headed to the trashcan of SWG history.

Liked the subject I had to reply, Commando was the profession I wanted to do and I will be staying with no matter what happens the nerfs have never really gotten to me and I have adapted.

Rocket Launchers are not the bst thing to be firing at PCs in PvP as they will do less dmg and more than likely miss. What I use my Rocket Launchers on are Turrents and the occasional At-St, but flamers are much more usefull in that regard.

I personally have never really had many issues with the Commando professionas I see them more of a PvE profession than PvP. Reason why I say this is that all of our high damage is with the flamer and that is a closerange weapon, trying to use our hvy weapons against players just doesn't work as they are protected by the PvP damage reduction also you can't use them on the run. Launcher Pistol would be a good alternative but I have had no experience playing a pistoleer. The other reason is that the **edit** riflemen take down the players before I get a chance to chase them down

PvE is another story with Master Commando and Master Tka myself and a Doc buddy and another mate did the warren, flame cone 2 a squad of Stormies in base raids, using the flamer to assist in taking down the many big mobs around the place andthe list goes on.

I will agree that the commando is stuck at this time, well since day onein"what is my role?" hopefully the devs will work that quesion out and make the fixes.

As for honour in PvP starport camping is cowardly but with the imunity timer should give most people time to get out. But for AFK overt too bad, if you are overt, afk is one of the last things you should be doing. If you are red to me you are a target pure and simple and if I am afk ovet for some reason and come back and I am a corpse then so be it.

We are given 250 skills points to spend at our choosing to create a character. I should be allowed to spend my skill points how ever i want to create the best char for the situation. Dabblers are frowned upon in SWG because people think u should be true to ur profession for some reason. To be compelety honest the best pvper's are dabblers, but they also cant get some of the best skills that masters achieve. For all you people complaining about why ur master bounty hunter just got owned by a pistoleer/bh/fencer you have to realize that that char was created specificaly for pvp and only pvp. People spend alot of time testing templates for pvp and a lot of people give them crap just because they think its not fair. Everyone has the same oppurtunities to create a character, its your choice how you do it, just dont complain about how sum1 else created there char.
