Thread: Just why do Commandos get less XP per kill on same mobs?

I am just curious what the reasoning is behind giving us gimp XP even if we don't use a DOT.

Example: Endor ; Crazed Gurrecks....any profession gets 3650 for XP rougly on Crazed Gurrecks.

Commando same mob...gets between 2400 and 2800 XP for the same mob...this is WITHOUT using a DOT.

This is no specials at all..just straight up default damage from any of our heavy weapons...Launcher pistol, HAR, Flamethrower..Rocket launcer Heavy beam cannon etc.

Doesnt matter which weapon we use ...we get less XP per kill then any other profession.

Why?!

I can only guess what the devs thought, so here goes

They may have designed the commando profession as very strong, being capable of tearing through most wildlife, thus decreasing the xp per creature to keep the xp-rate down.

We do have the power to rip through creatures, as long as they are weak against fire, with the cone attacks, provided you have a tank to keep them in the cone of effect.

Why is our XP gains so whacked? The Devs love us. The really do. However, they don't love us as they do Bounty Hunters

Does grouping with another profession change the experience reward?

While it is true that Commando's can tear thru wildlife, our accuracy. Balances that out. Not to mention our Damage per second is lower then most other professions. Sure we do big damage in one shot..but we miss alot. And that damage range can be huge.

Take for example a Master swordsman. By the time a swordsman hits master they are at the spd cap if they are using a Scythe blade...i know this for a fact because i was one not to long ago. I could spam that headshot special once a second..averaging about 4k a hit...the DPS is off the scale here, yet they get more XP for this same mob. Due to cycle times on our weapon cool down our DPS is much lower across the board. At master Swordsman i could kill full crazed gurreck lair in under 30 seconds..just wack the lair with our spin attack2 and the cats that popped out died so fast they couldnt heal the lair. I kid you not sometimes i could clear the lair in under 12 seconds..i have done it.

So why, if our DPS is so darn low do we get an XP penalty instead of a boost to bring us in line with the DPS vs XP gain of any other profession?

Do you get hatemail from SOE too?

Seriously I have never understood why we get so little xp compared to other professions. They seem to like keeping us under their thumbs for some reason.

Never really noticed the difference until just the other day, when I thought I might try becoming a smuggler so needed pistol experience. Killing the critters that used to give nearly 3500 experience now give less than 3000 when using a pistol to kill them...that just ain't right.
