There was a player event on Shadowfire today called Imperial show of force. A chance for Imps to put on there ST armor pull out ther atst's and there dark troopers. There was a battle planned for the event between the rebels and imps. The devs even spawned an operational ATAT. Here is a screen shot.

Ya know, seeing all of those"big guns" brings up an idea I have beenthrowing around for a while.I have been thinking about a special type of defense for commandos. Basically when armor and buffs get a huge slap in the face for the CB, people are going to have a hard time standing up against the AT-ATs, AT-STs. and turrets. Of course the AT-STs are going to target the commando's first if the DEVs truly give us a good pat on the back with damage increases. However, it doesnt matter how much damage we do if we only last long enough for one hit. It would be an interesting idea to toss around for commandos having a special type of defense or mitigation added to them. Some sort of "heavy weapons" defense. Basically any damage coming from the things we are supposed to be able to kill gets a reduction since we are "trained" to take them down. Of course this would not be fair to Imperials if it was limited only to the AT-ATs and AT-STs, but how to implement it would be best left up to the more imaginative crowd. At least it is another idea.

I'd like to see some kind of damage multiplier when commandos attack hard targets like turrets and atst's. Similar to the diffrence between hitting a creature and hitting an empty lair. This would most defenitly bring a nerf cry though because no one should be able to solo an atst (I say if the ewokscan takeout one with two logs, an AP3 rocket should blow one apart).

I think the best possible solution would be that Commandos grouped together along with possible a squad leader should get a bonus to damage and defenses. It would be fun to be part of a commando strike team to soften a base, and then provide coverasthedemo team moves in.

if i was a rebel i would have loved to have been there in a group of commando,


any idea on the res and HAM of that at-at?
