Thread: Grenades VS Jedi Question

Hi guys, I am very curious about something and I hope some of you might have a bit of info.


Has any MasterCommandosused a grenade on a Jedi?


If so, did it hit and actually do damage or did you miss or was it blocked?


If anyone would like to do some testing on this, I would be very appreciative.


I cannot afford the SP for master commando to test this myself and would truly appreciate any feedback you guys might have.

Jedi's cannot block a grenade, but the damageis pitiful vs a jedi with force armor, and you can usually wind up doing more damage to yourself than to the jedi, assuming you hit.




Ancient weapons and hokey religions are no match for a rocket launcher in your backpack.

Tested an unsliced Proton grenade on a friend who is a Jedi.


Grenade tested is min 1582 max 3682


not sure on all the other jibberish in there...i.e. enc range modifiers etc.



Anyway...friend who i fought is very close to having lightsaber mastery.



Never blocked the grenades, so i guess they cannot block them. Out of the 20 grenades i threw only 8 connected doing roughly 400 to 600 damage on average.


Best hit was for 997.

if you take accuracy food, you should be gold ( in theory )

i have a master rifleman/marksman character and ill be lucky to land 5 clean headshots in an entire fight against one - considering grenades are thrown weapons, like poisons, i would bet that jedi cant block them.

Try proton grenades - all sliced + pop accuracy food and pray for the best.

The only problem with grenades is the range to use them at sucks. By the time the Jedi is 10m away he'll be on top of you in 2 more seconds. I see this problem just over all with grenades, the range is too shot.


A combat medic can throw poison 64m but a trained commando can only lob a grenade 10m? I mean a freaking baseball player throws a ball 90ft+ every day over and over.

Thankyou so much guys. I really appreciate the help. If Grenade range could just be increased to 32m and the thrower could not be hurt...Wow..they would be really great. I hope the Devs give you guys some pre combat balance attention, you deserve it.

With protons, powered up, another Master Commando friend of mine was landing shots for around 1200...about 50% of the time (with some snow cakes, though crap ones).


That was awesome, relative to the damage I normally take (and more than I'd have expected if my force armor had been blocking anything...but I saw nothing in the logs on that. That said, I wasn't really moving. Obviously, faced with a grenade chucking Commando, I suppose I could just /follow him, so his grenades and my saber would incap him. LOL.


Grenades need some help.

Does anyone know if the grenade distance rule will be changed come the revamps?
