Greetings all.

My main is a DE and it seems like the last patch totally borked experimentation rolls for me, so I decided to try and level my wannabe commando over on Chilastra. Currently 1 0 3 0

When I started back with him he was woefully under skilled, but a great spawn of wooly hide appeared on Corellia and I rose pretty quick, especially in the credit department. Because the hide spawn was good, I actually became qualified for Creature Handler so I picked that up too. I managed to tame a few creatures I could use as mounts and found Master CH's to get them mounted as they got bigger. I spent almost 100% of my time running destroy missions outta Corellia picking ones south of the starport. That way I could familiarize myself with the vendors that way and found a couple of really good weapons/armour vendors.

Now I still run missions outta Corellia, I ride a Humbaba south, killing everything I come across with my Flamethrower till I get to my missions.

What Ive noticed. When levelling unarmed, start with taking out the lairs strictly with unarmed, till you go up a level and get a bit better. Never train Unarmed till you cap the XP. That way you maximize your XP per creature killed. The lack of specials for the flamer makes it no difference to shoot from the back of a mount or unmounted. Even the little trash around Corellia is good for over 100 XP per kill when grouped with your mount. Vynocks still give me 293 XP per kill. Riding slowly south on the way to the missions can give me a few thousand in Heavy weapon XP before I get there. Riding back gives me the same. I dont even have to stop my mount to one shot these.

The flamethrower is pretty innacurate, but with mask scent its easy to get into range on most creatues and givethem a flame single 1. For some reason the flamethrower Im using has a sweet spot about 62-64m away from the target and when kneeling and /aiming I can get a nice positive number to hit. Overcharge shot2 can deal out 3000 points of damage on my cheap flamer.

I guess theres really no point to this thread, but its interesting to note that Commando has to be one of the easier professions and funnest professions for me to level. Its about the only alternate character I actually think I might stick with long enough to get master.

Kudos to all you commandos that have stuck with it. It looks like a great PvE profession but I couldnt imagine attempting to shoot a player with a flamer! Unless I catch him totally unawares.
