After fighting 4 Krayt tonight, I noticed that our range on the flamer is 24m at max, instead of the 16m ive heard all over the forums. Im just noticing if this is true for everybody else.

i don't think the specials work from 24m, but i'm not ingame to test that.

Best I have gotten specials to work from was 18m.

The specials were working 24m-25m, and usually does it about this range.

I think it has something to do with the size of what you're attacking. When you're using specials against a person, you have to be within 16m, but with how big krayts are, you're ableto get into the low 20m's with specials.

Thats because you have been fightin Krayt. You can attack krayt 14 m away with any melee weapon because of its size.

torturs are hitable at 19m so id say its gotta be something to do with creature size as has already been stated, wonder if we cna get enoguh data to get an diea how its worked out though?

My guess is that the range displayed on your target window is the distance from you to some virtual point in the middle of the mob.

The range is 24m...I've seen about a +5 (depending on the lag in the system, can be farther)range increase on occasion due to lag for the NPC/Player/System all catching up with each other...in otherwords...the system tells you that the target is 20+ away, but in reality it's on 16m...or when you fired at the target it was 16m, but by the time the system caught up the target was 24m away and it still processed the shot...
Either way, our range is only 16m...anything beyond 16m is just the system mis-reporting the ACTUAL range due to system issues (internal or external lag)...

Yeah, that and the "range finder" registers all targets as "point entities", just infinitesimal points. The combat mechanism works by the actual defined area the creature occupies.
