Hi,

I am pretty new to thecommando profession, I dropped swords and still have TKM and have an almost pure melee background. I bought a launcher pistol and loved it, so I went and got a flamethrower. It's speed is 3.9 and it does about 500 to 900 damage and it's already been sliced... so far so good (only 30k too - so I also bought a slower one at 5.2 that does 600 to 1000 damage for that price as that seems like a good deal but not too sure what flamethrower prices usually are). Does anyone know if foods will increase my accuracy for ranged weapons like they did for melee as only have one box in flamethrower right now?

Also, I am currently going up the flamethrower branch, does the acid rifle do better damage, and should I go up it first?

And finally, I am mostly into PVE and want to try the corvette, etc. I am also slowly grinding my way to jedi...

My current template is TKM, Marksman of course and some smuggler and scout, I guess I should drop some scout to master commando and perhaps pick up novice medic? Any opinions on that one?

Well, the best way to head up the flame thrower tree is to use your launcher pistol until you get flame three, then switch to the flamer. That flamer you have isn't bad, but I'd look around while you're hunting to find one with speed under 4. I'm in the Commando School of Thought that puts speed above damage with your flame (my current flame has it's speed 3.1, but I'm searching for one under 3.0). You should start with the Flame Tree, for sure, because once you have the flame tree completed, you can light things on fire with decent accuracy, and that is what it's all about.

As far as dropping scout, I would drop all the scout except the part that gives you the terrain negotiation. So, that's my advice, anyway.

As a commando I generally only use the famer. It has more damage, as a rule. The only thing I use my acid rifle for is againt AT-ST's. I love the burn!!!

If your planning on going full master commando, go up the flamerthrower tree as fast as possible. And only use the flamethrower to grind.

Thanks for the info. I got box two in flamethrower last night. Working on quenker missions :-)
