and re spec to commando. Now, the loss of specials was a surprise, but I figured as a master rifleman I'd jsut adapt...but whne I found my FT was a PFT, not teh standard. How am I supposed to grind? I checked the bazaar buty I found only HARs, which I'm not certed for yet, and PFTs...

Hit your local WS and ask for a standard FT. If you are not at that point ask for an RL after incendiary I and group for the rest.

yea all old FTs are now PFTs so everyone that took just the flame line got but xcrewed another good mark for SOE

time to go scour my guild for a FT, whats good, avg, bad stats for a FT?

If you have enough skill-points, I reconmend respeccing to 0400 at least and hitting the bazaar for a lightning beam cannon. If you can't find one there, should be able to find a WS that has it. The days of us solely being FT-junkies are over. 
If you can't get that, I recomend the following grinding-path:
- Incediary Box I (for Rocket Launcher to grind with to box 2/4 of Particle Weapons)
- Master Heavy Particle Weapons (0400 - for HPBC and HLBC*; *best non-master weapon IMO)
- Everything else in whatever order you please
