Thread: Questions about AA's and CA's

Having been a commando for so long, and as such not having any working attachments for our profession prior to the CU, I'm forced to ask noob questions about their use now that (I believe) we finally have some way of increasing our skills

So here goes :

If I drop 2 attachments for the same skill but with different values into the same item (lets say a HW speed + 5 and a HW speed + 9) will both of these accumulate to give me a total of +14 HW speed from that item, or will only the higher mod stick (effectively wasting the +5) ??

Similarly, if I drop attachments for different skills onto the same item, will both mods stick, or will only the higher mod apply (so if I dropped a +5 HW speed and a +3 HW accuracy into a helm, would I benefit from both, or just the HW speed) ??

If the attachments do accumulate in value :

Is there a limit on the total bonus that any individual item can give if its loaded up with attachments ? (so if I were to drop 4 HW speed +9 tapes into a belt, would that give me a total bonus of +36, or does it cap at some point)

Do total skill mod adjustments cap at some point (similar to the way the defenses used to cap at +25 under the old system) ??

And finally, if there is no limit on mods, how much of an increase would I need to see in my speed to cap out my rate of fire at (what I believe is the maximum rate) of one shot per second ??

Yeah I know they're noob question, and after playing for over 20 months you'd think I'd have some clue with this , so apologies for noob qualities and thanks in advance for any light anyone can shed on this for me.

Well, they changed a bit with the CU. SEA's with multiple mods will now apply all the mods. So if you have a SEA with HW Speed +20, Volley Fire +11, and 1H Damage +7, all mods will stick. Each mod seems to take one socket. Mods will still not stack on the same piece of clothing, however. If you have a shirt with +1 HW speed, and you drop a CA with +2 HW speed, the shirt will have +2 HW speed and one less socket. If you have a shirt with +2 HW speed, and drop in a CA with +1 HW speed, you just lose a socket.

Thanks for the reply

If I'm understanding you correctly then, I can drop a +10 HW speed and a +10HW accuracy onto the same item of clothing / armor and both are going to apply.... all that means then is that I have to spread my attachments over multiple items, good to know.

Anyone know if theres a cap on the total adjustment that can be achieved this way ? Or if there isn't, at what point adding further mods stops beneftting us ??
