Thread: Converted weapons vs post-CU crafted weapons.

Does anyone have any good comparisons of converted weapons vs the new crafted weapons?

Most of my regular Flamethrowers converted to what looks like poor stats for Master level Plasma Flamethowers. In addition, I haven't seen many newly crafted commando weapons. I managed to find a regular Flamethrower crafted post-CU and the stats looked kind of sad, especailly compared to some of the carbines and pistols I have seen crafted.

I am hoping we don't get screwed on the DPS again. I am all for other professions getting their lovin' but it would be very disappointing if heavy weapons don't compete with conventional weapons in DPS.

On a side note, I had a pikeman beat me in a duel in 3 or 4 hits. I was wearing armour and a PSG and was under the impression that they had taken ungodly pikes out of the game.

Newly crafted vibro lances do deal out a ton of damage. Pikeman is good. If he had armor break from swordsman to use with his weapon.. armor isn't going to stop him for long. Close up melee chars will beat a ranged one, and I don't see how that is wrong. (and I am not a melee char commando/smuggler myself).

3 or 4 hits is harsh, but I don't know all the details of course.

I've seen crafted commando weapons post cu, and the damage ranges seem in line with other weapons. Pre CU stuff varies, but from what I have seen, and "average" weapon is around 200 dps, climbing up to 300dps where exceptional begins. Start getting into the 400+ unmodified dps range and you've got some of the best of the best.

As far as your duel goes, if you were wearing assault armor, that's a high kinetic protect. Many melee weapons now do energy damage, no kinetic, so your protection may well have been very weak. PSG's have zero effect on melee based damage, so no help there. Toss in some swordsman for berserk, armor break, and a couple of high damage hits, and I could see someone getting taken down very quickly by someone with a very good lance (400+ unmod dps).

well from what i've seen it varies quite alot, i've got a weapon with a modified DPS of around 415 and another a bit lower but all my other pre-cu guns are in the mid 300s

You'll probably have to check each gun and look at some pre and post CU to check which ones were buffed up and which ones are nerfed, for some reason laser rifles are now really good for example.

I am using a krayted post curb flamer that does 486 dps (modified). Our guild has been trying to break the magical 500 mark. It seems there are a lot of hidden caps to consider and WS is completely changed. Also, pre CURB components can make all the difference if you have a stash.....
