I would say no.

If you want a melee career with your ranged Id more advice the TKM template, commando even get their own vibro knuckler. And TKM is an awsome tank And Commando is the damage dealer.

I used to have this template, but with the changes to Commando and the specials being "built" into our weapons I prefer to combine with other ranged careers..

My current template is:

Master Commando (Ofcourse) . Master BH and some Rifle. This gives me alot of nice attacks and powerfull damage dealing..

In PvP the negative side is that I dont have all the recovery moves, so I might get Carbineer or pistoleer instad of BH.. at a cost of damage dealing potential and defence.
