Thread: Pistols are getting a higher DPS...

Been talking to some people, reading other forums, and basically checking on DPS. What I've dicovered is that the various pistol weapons have a higher DPS than even the Plasma Flamethrower (and the proton rifle had only a slightly higher DPS than a PFT on TC - and no flame dot, to boot). We could use a serious DPS upgrade...or they could just nerf pistol damage back to its intended place (which is far below ours).

the DPS on the Proton Carbine and other quest reward guns is a lot more than the froggy versions were on TC....I'm hoping the PR has at least 400 base DPS, but its probably 350 base DPS in line with the PC.....

I'm thinking we havent seen any Commando weapons made to their potential yet. Alot more money to be made in conventional guns. Plus more WS's are geared for it as far as resource stockpiles.
This is my hope anyway, because I agree my 1120 max dmg FT is now a 410 (or is it 470?) modified DPS weapon, doesnt sound like my damage dealing is a "5" to me, especially if pistoleers were supposed to be a "2" or "3" right?

base DPS on PFT: 357
modified DPS: atm 577 but not all speed tapes in my armor yet
I don't see where pistols get more DPS. /shrug

I have been using my pistols, because I have a higher DPS with it. I am WS on my alt and AI have been making FT's for a long time, but even with tissues of -.93 79 damage I didn't get that great of FT. Also use an imp stock in it, so max speed and only was left with experimenting in damage, but my pistols still do more damage unless I need area attacks.

my pre-cu scatter = max dmg 828 (can't remember the exactDPS) - not enhanced, the krayted FT.. 1004 (was 1134 pre-cu) an i know the DPS is lower on that than the pistol..
