Commando Archive

Commando's weapons are supposed to be our specials, but what if they added two attacks at novice that had damages scaled to the level or tier required to wield each weapon? For instance:

Heavy Weapon Single (HWS)-single target

Weapons that you get at novice commando do 1.25x damage of the weapon using HWS.

Weapons you become certed for at Tier 1 have a 1.5x damage multiplier on the weapon using HWS.

Tier 2 weapons 2x damage modifier

Tier 3 weapons 2.5x damage modifier

Tier 4 weapons 3x damage modifier

Master Commando 3.5x or 4x damage modifier.

This would put us in line with other damage dealing professions in terms of damage per hit. (Average plasma flamethrower around 500 dps x 3.5 damage mod at master = 1750, about what advanced critical shot does I think?) This would give commandos who have a second hybrid class like smuggler, cm, sl, or elite combat classes like doc, tk, sword, pike a way to make their heavy weapons combat useful without being forced to take an elite ranged class.

Heavy Weapon Cone (HWC)-multiple targets within 6m radius

Same damages as above, only applied to all targets within heavy weapons' 6m radius. If it would cause us to become unbalanced, add a zip bar to this attack to cut down on the repeatability.

I think this would be a huge benefit for using commando's current weapon built in specials but adding specials so players can choose what professions they want to compliment their commando.
