Commando Archive

Well folks, it has come time for me to finally give up my first hybrid/elite mastery. I had respec'd all of my other commando toons out of this profession (due to lack of damage potential) leaving my one last original master from Sept or Oct '03 alone... today he became a Master Smuggler/ Master Shipwright (Rather than Commando)/Ace Pilot with the speed line of Pistoleer. With the Respec time period coming to a close soon and the desire to continue having fun with the game, I am giving up my oldest and most faithful prof (smuggler being my second oldest). Confirming my suspicions were true and hearing that the lack of Dev attention is due to the fact that they took vacations (after throwing us a star wars version of a "I survived the CU" T-shirt)... well... that says a lot about where this prof stands on being balanced with everyone else in my opinion. I have no faith anymore that fixes are coming any time soon. How long were we promised to wait on the CU? With the collection of ideas (however great I might add)... this smells of revamp. The CU is not even a month old and we are already needing an overhaul. Smuggler still needs one to even be able to smuggle, but at least I am not a detriment to a group while I wait for that fix so I can hold on to that prof. They pushed the CU out early, the expansion is live... our day has come... well...we still wait for our day while the Devs get to sip margaritas waiting on Ep III to come out in theaters after all the promises of being fixed. I do understand they need a break after the chaos of all this being rushed out, but frankly leaving Commando where it is at was another slight to us. I mean if a Jedi couldn't use it's lightsaber to defend it self, it would be fixed overnight.... If a Commando is forced to put away his heavy weapons... meh, they can wait.

Bottom line, I am off to have fun again and feel bad abandoning my roots, but hey... I feel I need to take one in the chin in order to benefit my friends and myself out hunting etc rather than cause a mass suicide of hitting too many targets for next to no damagesomewhere in a cave or battle.

I'll lurk to keep up with a few of you guys, you all have been a great part of the community and some I have a great deal of respect for. Keep strong and your fixes will come... just not soon(tm) enough for me when I have been broken for far too long. I'll betoting a Proton Carbine with one Smuggler rooting for you in more way than one.Best of luck to all you new guys, best wishes to my old comrades in arms. /21flamersalute

I find it very disturbing how many commandos are being chased off due to the CU.

Stern, I know you have to be disturbed as well. Give the devs a swift kick in the ass and make them revamp us now!
