I've started to dabble in fencer (the Dodge category) to gain some defenses, that Commando doesn't really have. If I use my flamethrower, and have the full dodge category for the fencer profession, would it still work (basically, is Dodge weapon specific or does it work with all weapons)?

right now yes it dos but after pach no but i think you can go up the rang and melee defence line and it still work after next pach 4000 i belive it be

no, your dodge abilities ARE weapon specific right now, so unless you have a pistol or one-handed melee weapon out, your dodge doesn't take effect.
The propositions for the nerfing of stacking will introduce further barriers to stacking the dodge trees of pistolier and fencer (as an example).
If you want defences, don't go commando. We are for hit and run heavy damage assaults as it is now, not front-line, one on one fighting.
