Specifically I was thinking in PvP. Just how much will a flamesingle2 tick for now vs. an opponent with average comp armor on? I'm thinking comp armor with around 50-60% eff. And then also do some tests with heavily layered armor with eff slices that has 80+% eff. Just kinda curious about that.
It just seems to me they should implement that first and wait to see the effects before adding things in like the fire extinguisher. Back when I used to race RC cars when I was a kid I was told to make one change at a time and test it out to see the effects. Not make a lot of changes at once or else it might be changed for the worse and you won't know which change or combination of changes really made it worse.
I'm thinking people with a good suit of layered armor won't even need to worry about a fire extinguisher and will be able to just shrug off the flame dot. And if they do use the fire extinguisher we'll have barely scratched them.

We'll see what effect it has shortly. Personally, I haven't been killed by a fellow commando in months. I always pvp with buffs and armor, so when that commando does flame me, I sick my rifleman buddy on him, while i just use my novice medic to stim the wounds. Unbuffed, I have 800 ham, that means that i will never receive wounds higher than 799, which usually is a little under half of an average master doc health buff, thus even with maximum wounds I still have a higher than normal ham with buffs. As a commando in pvp we have two roles (both of which are done much better by other professions), one is to wipe out unarmored players (which any profession can do) and the other is to take down turrets (which riflemen can do with even more ease). Either way this new resist won't effect pvp that much, considering how pathetic we are against any armored and buffed foe already and unarmored foes don't have resists. I suspect it doesnt matter anyways because it sounds like LordPaul (or whatever his name is) doesn't want commandos in the game anyways, and it looks like this next patch is just to get people to leave so they can remove the class with the combat rebalance.
