Thread: Commando as damage giver, question about template

Don't waste your time. Go grab a rifle with it's AP3 and shooting once per second (at master level) and be done with it. If you're looking for taking down HUGE mobs, commando is about the second to last profession you want to look at (the last being Pikeman). The flamethrower will be useless against big mobs when this patch hits. Not sort of, kind of, a little bit, but rather absolutely useless. Most of the super mobs have 90-100% heat resists with heavy armor. Rockets won't do the trick either as you'll miss most of the time, and these big mobs have blast resist as well. Again, grab a rifle and some muon gold and you'll be the most powerful member on your hunt. Or if you have the skill points go pick up combat medic and stay at 90m away and throw disease and poison at the mob, as nothing can resist those.

Well I never liked being fotm. And I try to be positive, I believe allthese things making riflemen/combat medics uber (the corny speed equation, all the bugs with CMs poison etc) must be changed sooner or later. Maybe I'm a fool but with the new HAM-system ingame, I think they can balance things better. Mind pool won't be as vulnerable ie.

And I refuse to think too much about the template, I play a character nota template. The reason Im asking here now is that I wanted someone experienced to share their knowledge.

This template-question does only concern PvE, mainly heavy HAM "supermobs". I could get the numbers using the prof calculator but I'm asking for you to share your experience rather than numbers.

While still remaining Master Smuggler, I want to add some Commando for damage (and because it's uber-kewlness in theory) to be able to participate in groups hitting mobs like Nightsisters, Kimos and Krayts.

I'm thinking 0440 to be able to use the cannons and rl besides the flamesingle2.

But I'm also thinking 0040 only to be able to add more Pistoleer and Medic.

Or simply add Master Commando to Master Smuggler and live with the sucky pistol mods. And only use flamesingle2, flamecone2 (how much better is flamecone2 than 1?) and the heavy cannons/rl.

So my questions are
1) How much more effective is a MC than a 0400 with the heavies?
2) How much better is flamecone2 than 1?
3) How much does the added ft-accuracy at MC matter compared to a 0040?
4) Is it effective as a MC to only use the ft and the heavies? (I dont have a money problem so I'll be able to buy me a krayt-ft or two I think. And no problem buying the heavies either I think).

Regards

the best dam out put wep commandos have right now is the FT and 0400 with the RL will be more of a mony sink then any thing els (thats just my opinon)

and master commando is not realy any better the a flame 4 dabler its a wast of alot of skill points

flame cone 2 is nice tho its nt really wasting the skill points for it tho becous 4004 are compleetly use less trees

as it stands now

(i posted there some were els to and thought it help becous you looking for damge)

a commando can do about 1k a sec with dot add in tho

thisis rare to get 1k a sec unless you stack dots then might get 1.5k

a pistoler with a haf decint gun 1.6k a sec with a good gun 2k a second

a carbiner with decint wep 1k with good 1.4k a sec (cant really say for sure scater shot 2always shows up as 1 point of dam on combat when i see it doing about 1-2.5k of damlol )

a riflemen with haf decent gun 3.7k a sec with good wep 5k

a tk with no vibes 2k with vibes 3-4.5k a sec depanding on vibs

a fencer with decent wep 1.5k with good wep 2k a sec

a swords men decint wep 2k with good wep about 3k a sec

a pike men well i have to do more testing

a mbh with llc decint llc about 3.3k good llc about 4.7k a sec if not more

now i know that thees all have ham but if your buffedup on moun gold or on BOH and ryshcat you can spam all day until downer way out daming any commando

K thanks for answering. So what you're saying is thatcommando is not good as damagegiver however I put my skillpoints? Is this also true for mobs with heavy ham/high resists where the dot matters a lot? If they really change the dot to be resisted, then it will be, but as it is today too?

K thanks. So it is confirmed that heat resistance will be counted for the dot as well?
