Thread: My Ideas On DOT stacking

First off Im not a master commando. I climbed the tree a bit and dropped it. But I feel the stacking DOTs was not overpowered. I felt the only thing overpowered about it was the fact that a commando did not pay to use the DOT. A Rifleman can incap himself with a couple MindShot2's but a commando can let DOTs go all day long because of the bug with flamethrowers not costing HAM to use. Fix the cost but keep the stacking. Besides how the hell else do you take down an ATST?

I don't mind so much about the dot stacking going away, I mean how many times can you set something on fire?

actuly look at it this way a top of a hous is burn but the bottom of its fine i walk up and set the botom floor abalze now that houes burn faster now

or put it this way i have a lite fire and i throw gasalien on it it now i have a biger fire then i throw more fuel on it the fire gets even biger

i set them on fire then i add more fuel to the fire this is why dots should stack

or this dueds bleeding in his right arm i walk up to him and stab a nife in is left arm (thats really nasty) now hes bleeding in both arms

i make him bleed some were elss that why bleeds should stack

Hehehe, yeah but master riflemen wait approxamately 1 second before shooting again. Commandos wait 6-10 seconds before letting another shot go. If you fire any other special with the flamethrower (supression, overcharged) then you will get hit HARD in the ham bars, 200+ damage, but the flamespecials are meant NOT to reduce the commandos HAM any, for the basic reason that we would die if it did.

You guys keep reading the post written by the long winded guy you think is an idiot.

I was a master commando for two months, and I know for a fact that the multiple fire DOT was overpowered, unbalanced, and an unfair griefing tactic when used to put a DOT on an incapped person who was already burning as that person got back up just so he could die again instantly and clone with 80% wounds. I've seen this one too many times done by little kiddies who won't deathblow, just to burn the person again to grief.

Anyone who thinks the multiple fire DOT is not overpowered is delusional. Even with a single DOT the initial flame causes substantial damage, and the DOT that ticks away also causes substantial damage every other second. The ones complaining are the ones who lack any skill at all and only climbed the commando tree to use the flamethrower. These people have no idea how to fight in this game other than spamming flamesingle2.

DeneziB, I'm thinking you don't pvp much. I've had 3 commando flame dots put on me (and they don't tick every other second, if you're going to come here and argue, try not to be ignorant), and laughed at how ineffective they are. It's called buffs. Lets say my health unbuffed is somewhere around 800. That means I can never recieve wounds higher than 799. An average master doctor buff is around 1800. That means, with the wounds, I still have 1000 health above my normal rate. And as far as the actual damage goes, each tick is easily cured by a stim B (I have medic 4000, so i can even wait about 3 ticks before a stim).Ask any experienced pvper if they fear commandos at all. Noobs are afraid, because pvp noobs usually aren't buffed and wearing armor. Not to sound rude, but it sounds like you had a bad pvp experience, and didn't have the knowledge of how to easily counter and defeat commandos. Well, sadly we are now going to suffer even further (commando was near the bottom of the barrel for pvp before this patch) because of a few players' lack of knowledge and preperation.

Well you are rude.

I PvP much.

I did not write that it ticks away every second. Read the post again.

I write what I write as an impartial master commando/master tk.

Flame DOTS still eat away at the same pace with or without armor.

Your defense of 3 flame DOTs ticking away is based on a person fully doctor buffed wearing full suit of armor with first aid 4? That's a weak defense that sidesteps the issue of class balancing. This is not about "defeating commandos". This is about balancing an out-of-balance class, which is what limiting the flame DOT does.

Anyone who doesn't think that the griefing tactics that immature commandos do to make people clone with 80-90% wounds across all HAM bars is griefing, is delusional.

If you don't think it's griefing, then you're the reason why the multiple DOTs got taken away. I trust the Devs experience and rationality regarding class balancing than the judgement of people like you anyday.

I wish you pvped on my server, judging by your lack of tactics, you would make an easy kill.

I always deathblow after first incap. Ingame, I have a quite honerable reputation. I'm simply stating that everything a commando can dish out is easily avoided with proper preperation. If you are unbuffed and unarmored in pvp, then you deserve to be killed. I'm sorry, but any other way is just poor planning and tactics. Furthermore, every pvp group should have a doctor, end of story. With all the combat medics floating around, pvping without a doctor is suicide. A doc can heal all your health wounds in 1 or 2 stims. I grow tired of a very, very, verysmall number of players like yourself, who have no comprehension of how commandos work, and cry nerf when we are already a drastically underpowered class (I've said it before, I haven't been killed by a commando in months, dying to a commando is about as bad as dying to a pikeman). What you want, is to take a class who has the second lowest dps in the game, and hamper its abiltiy even further. Stacking the dots in pvp is so rare anyways, as any commando lucky enough to land the first shot is usually killed or had pulled out before a second shot is fired.

I'm more of a p vs e type and of course I enjoy the stacking. but to be fair I've never been able to stack like dot's in any game. but say, cone and single stacking would seem to be a good compromise instead of just you're to powerful we're taking it all.
