Has anyone tried this attack on a rancor? If so what kind of damage have you been doing?

Probably a heck of alot less then a FT could do with FS2.

Agreed. I am a master commando and I seriously never use the acid rifle unless they are weak to it. Like really weak wen they got massive heat resistance. Even though they are weak i would never use an acid special it just plain kills your HAM. Your better off using the flamethrower with its burns and big damage shots with specials.

many variants of rancors have 100% heat resist so HAR is betetr againsts those rancors.

But as a note, even though the ranc has 100% heat resist, the DoT will still catch. When I've hunted rancs in a group, I've played a supporting role by setting the beast on fire multiple times while the rest of the group does their thing.

The rancors do resist the first hit with the ft but the lil dot is much better then the actual Acid Riffle.

I could have sworn that they said they were going to change it so that DOTs have to take into account fire resists...

I hunted Rancor last night. A group asked for my "HELP".

I did my best. Used my sliced expenables, Flamecone2, Flame sigle one...no dice gentlemen! It quickly became a race between a rifleman and I.

I'd remove a huge chunk heath, he'd rapidly remove mind. The blue bar always went down first...oh well.
