Thread: If you like mind buffs, you better speak up

Say goodbye to easy to find mind buffs.
Dancers and musicians think that our buff bots are wrecking the game. If you don't speak up now, mind buffs will be all but impossible to find.
You need to make your voice heard here

If you are a combat player, if you like PVP, if you like PVE, if you appreciate a good mind buff as much as I do, then you better make your voice heard. Otherwise, bye bye mind buffs.
Mind buffing will still be around, just a lot harder to find for those of us that don't have a strong PA, alternate toons, or a friend that dances and plays music.
If you are have a buff bot that provides this valuable service, spread this message to the other boards. Let's see what other players have to say.

CRAP!!! That just f***in sucks. I just bought a buff bot this weekend, and now they are going to take them out. Cripes SOE thanks for continually screwing the combat professions.

Buffbots are not going to be removed from game...that is a big MYTH that paniced people are spreading without doing a bit of research...
The key is that you can create long Macros...
Instead of looping you could just have your buffbot macro repeat internally 100 or so times instead of looping...sure this would add the inconvenience of having to check on your buff bot every couple of hours, but oh well, I guess that's what comes from playing a game that is meant to be played...
AFK Entertainers and BuffBots will still exist after this change goes in, they'll just be less frequent because some people won't want to create the large macros (these are the people the Devs are specifically targeting...those people who want to keep their AFK characters going all day)...

All I can say is, "thank god." When I first saw the information about the changes to macros I was upset. To be honest I still don't like the changes much, I feel there are better ways to go about it. But, I have to say, seeing all the complaining about the lack of buffbots has put me firmly in the "get rid of recursive macros" camp.
I remember when macrotainers were a very rare exception, not the rule, and I miss those days. Give the cantinas back to their rightful inhabitants, the ATK entertainers, and get rid of the zombies. You think the lack of mind buffs is going to hurt? There are alternatives. Try playing an entertainer for a while in a sea of AFKers. There's no alternative to that.
