Can I have a few suggestions for tactics a commando can use Vs Rifleman.

I am comm 3141/TKM (But I don't want to bring TKM into the scenario)

I would like any tips Commando's may have for offence as my defence is fairly standard

Buffs+mind

Brandy

Canape

synth steak

Intimidate

I was thrashed the other day by a Kyting rifleman, to me there is something so wrong with that.

Run, hide, call on a Melee friend. There's little else you can do as a Commando, unless you're dabbled in TK/Fencer.

Here is an idea:

Go in unarmed. Take some of that accuracy food, Snow Cake or whatever it is called. Create a /centerofbeing macro so that you are always centered (thus the unarmed). Start with /warcry and /intimidate then switch to your FT and hope that you can light him up. If he runs use /suppressionfire (yes, it does work with the FT). Then go back to unarmed and use /aim and the most accurate, most damaging heavy weapon you can find (rocket launcher, acid stream rifle, lightening cannon, etc.) and hope for you best.

I have never tried this, but so long as he is intimidate and you have a PSG and synthstake, he shouldn't be able to drain your mind too fast. He he is wearing good comp, the initial shot from the FT won't do a lot of damage but the burn will tick and add up. If your rockets hit in PvE for an average of 4000 you could hit him for anywhere from 100-350 depending on how good his armour is (90% base down to 65% base). The real trick is not getting hit, thus the CoB macro and being unarmed. Keep him intimidated and burning, and hope for a lucky shot. If you feel like putting all the points you have sunk into TKM to work, go nuts, you will kill him a lot faster.

If he is a rifleman/doc, you are screwed unless you want to Dizzy/KD him and UnarmedHeadHit him to death. It is really sad that TKM is almost as much of a one-trick-pony as commando is. Our pony just doesn't work nearly as well.

Thanks for that, i'll play around with it. I have the CoB Macro, not that I am yet, but I would have thought that a Master Commando should give a Master Rifleman a run for his money.

I mean sure he can blow my brains out at 64m, but when I have my flammer in his face it should be our game then. Rifleman should have huge penalties for kyting, how do run and snipe at the same time I mean really.

Some nice hints in there, I didn't want to end up being another TKM/Rifleman, hence I am getting owned in PvP I guess.lol

Ohhh the revamp, for the love of god.

If the target rifleman is unbuffed, and within ~17m, you will destroy him with Flame Single. Otherwise, stick your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye. Commando can straight out not do PvP effectively.

/aim does not work with disposable heavy weapons, or grenades (last I knew).

IMHO, supress him so he can't stand and run, then burn and swap to TKA. Maybe try grenades since a riflemans likely not to close with you (getting you withinyour own blast radius).

I finally accept the truth. PvP is dead or you only have a chance if you take the same template as everyone else.

Thanks guys for your honesty, bloody depressing as it is.

I'm saying this as a Master Marksman/Rifleman. This tactic should work, but only if you are prepared. As a human, I can get my mind secondaries to over 4k with proper food drink and buffs. That will force the riflman to use the Flurry/Flushing/Suppression/Strafeshot2 combo. (It target the healthpool) If you can keep from getting dizzyied and put on your knees until you get in range of your flamer, us suppression fire (Rifleman have like no defense Vs Posture down) then Set him on fire and back away out of range (64m) if he is using an acid rifle or a ion rifle. IF he is using a T21, stay right on top of him, because t21's accuracy is horrible under 30m. He will eat you alive from 50-64m with that T21 though. Since he can't touch your mind with over 4k in your secondaries, (Only a legendry weapon can touch that) he will have to go for your health, which you can easily Stim-B away. hope this helps. Heres a crazy idea run up to him, stay close and use a weapon i love... the rocket launcher. I have a rocket launcher with a great range so i can run up to someone at 0 meters and use it perfect. Lets seem someone try and focus with all the smoke and loud sounds I make lol. Thats actually an advantage to a commando it can focus someones mind on something like sound andvision instead of maintaining changes and selections in your enemies options.

It rarely works, but this is my strategy for them (not necessarily in this order):

Suppression fire them to get them down. [1]
Intimidate.
Burstrun up and stand right on top of them - if they run off stay as close as possible while using supression fire.
Flamesingle2.
Move around a little to try and mess up their accuracy while you wait for FS2 to recharge.

Synthsteak or exoprotein wafers helps a bit, as do bleed resist clothes.

[1] - If you have KD/Dizzy from TKM in your template, use that and swap back to the FT. FT hurts on a knocked down target.
