Thread: Heavy Support Weapons Question

Hi I just hit novice commando and I am wondering if the Heavy Support Weapons line is worth going up. I am also a Master Weaponsmith so the fact that the weapons have limited charges makes no difference to me. I can only pick one or two trees to go up, but could it be worth it to get HSW1 and then just use a launcher pistol and HPB to basically get the majority of the xp needed for the flame line? Or could it be good to just go up the HSW tree, and always use Launcher Pistol plus left handed weapons?

At the moment, if you can only go up 1 tree, I'd go up the Flamethrower tree. If you can go up 2 trees, I'd recommend adding the Heavy Weapons line, especially since you can make you own weapons (/jealous).
Heavy weapons are what I'd call situationally useful, mostly because they are relatively inaccurate, even at the master level. Unless you can control your range to target, you're very likely to miss. However, the devs will soon be adding in blast damage vulnerablilty to AT-STs and turrets, which will make the rocket launcher an absolute must on base raids. Furthermore, heavy weapons are still useful in high-level PvE, and in some PvP situations as well.
