Thread: Commando Weapons and Krayt tissue?
Ok...I keep reading about weaponsmiths enhancing weapons (during production) using Krayt tissue...since I know extremely little about weaponsmithing, I was wondering what the story is on this, and if it Krayt tissue can be used to make enhanced Commando Weapons...or am I totally misunderstanding the use of Krayt tissue?
Any weapon that takes optional components can be made with kryat tissues, and most sub-components can be made with tissues (ie, power handlers/barrels). The problem is that most commando weapons require multiple identical subcomponents, meaning you need to find X number of kryat tissue with identical serial numbers to make enough subcomponents.
Ie, you'd need 4 kryat tissues with the same serial # to make 1 kryat flamethrower.

Also, the benefits don't stack. If you have tissue that is speed -.3 and damge +30, if you use 5 to make a FT, the benefit is an overall -.3 and +30 max damage, not -1.5 speed and +150 damage.
That being said, a krayt FT is a thing of beauty. I've also noticed that almost all krayt heavy weapons get a speed slice, fwiw.
Interesting...thanks for the info...makes a ton more sense...
With all that being said...anyone (on Valcyn) have a Krayt FT to sell/trade? or some Krayt tissue (same seriel #) to sell/trade? Send me an in-game message or give me info so I can contact you...My current FT is about out of juice and I'm looking into upgrading...lol...
Just a note, you need 5 identical tissues to make one Krayt flamethrower. You need four to make the power handlers and one to make the schematic for those power handlers.
It's kind of a pain for the weaponsmith--though not nearly as bad as making one rocket launcher.
Also, as I understand it, Krayt tissues can only be used in power handlers. So for those rare weapons that don't use power handlers, Krayt tissues cannot be used.
You need a 5th kryat tissue with the same serial #s as the ones used in the power handlers to make the FT?
Are you sure it needs the same serial #?
Or does it need 5 power handlers?
I wouldn't think the serial # for the final combine would need to be identical since it's not a part of the schematic that calls for identical subcomponents... but what do I know, I only shoot guns other people have built ![]()
The whole "need to make schematic" thing didn't click till I was rereading it. See this is what I get for dumping my crafting skills like a bad habit after realizing how insane the grind to level them was.
