Thread: Cool har idea..
Ok.. i think they could make the Heavy acid rifle really cool by doin this..
First... make it ACCURATE... i dont think that heavy weapon means it should be a weapon that cant hit worth crap
Second... (and this is the cool part i think) make it mountable... as in a tripod, or the way id much rather have it.. be able to mount it on a creature...
You might be thinkin though, that that would be kind of unbalanced right? commandos runnin around with gun turrnets? well, i think that could EASILY be solved, for one, while mounted, the HAR gives you NO xp AT ALL... so your forced to do it with out it being mounted for a while before you get your master HAR title.. and, the devs could make it so a) you cant shoot specials or b) you CAN shoot specials, but the ham drain would be on the creature your mounted on, not you... being mounted on a critter with a har, while being able to use attacks such as suppresion fire (if the combat support tree works with har) would make commandos a force to TRULEY be reckoned with, and an incredible defensive support role.. commandoes have MANY weapons, not JUST FT... they can use FT for offensive purposes, and then when grouped, use there HAR to protect there squad, cuz imo, thats DEFINETLY something a commando could be doin.. any input is appreciated ![]()
Eh... just no. There should NEVER be a weapon tradeoff where effective use of that weapon gives you zero XP. While having a critter-mounted weapon would be kinda nifty, it would just be totally freaking useless. Think about it - the accuracy penalties would be berserkly high, first off, since critter mountsare supposed to move at burst-run-speed (last I heard, anyways). Second off, it would make commandos into a completely hit-and-run role, but ake it virtually impossible for anyone else to stop us - while one of our major tactics is, to be sure, a hit-and-run with Flamer or HAR (dip into the 16m range, then run away and let your creatures/friends take it out for you while you cycle), giving us the ability to do this while under the effects of a perma-burst-run would be just unfair.
