Thread: Just saw a Comando solo 2 krayts in a row...

Ummm ok , today I was checking the krayt graveyard to see if krayts were up and I did got one on the track list (Master ranger). So I ran in the direction that my track menu said where the beast was and when I finally found it guess what I saw. There was an AT-ST there tanking the canyon krayt Dragon and there was a comando sticking fire dots at it. It took about 15 minutes for this dude to kill it but he did solo a krayt... Whats wrong with this you ask? oh nothing, its just that normally a krayt would tear apart a couple AT-STs by throwing them up in the air with a simple tail whip and it would probably only feel warm by the fire dot of a flame thrower but hey, comandos suck as we keep hearing it all day long on theese boards so whats wrong with it! Once he looted it he sent me a tell (prolly to mock me) that he got 8 krayt tissues.
A little bit later I checked on my track list to see if another krayt was up and did found a Juvenile Krat. I started using conceal shot on it and it worked, I had the beast to about a 85% ham (Yes I know CS is lame)when the same comando dude stormed by and sticked a fire dot on the krayt and guess what, the krayt charged right at me instead of this mofo. I guess its something that has to do with agro but still. When I came back the krayt was already dead...
All I have to say is, kudos to the comando profession. The perfect griefer/exploiter char you ll ever get!

It's idiots like the one you ran into ( if the story is true.....no offence ) that has caused this profession to fall into disrepute. Commando has had more than its fair share of griefers but is not alone in this. I wouldn't worry too much about this tho, the devs are gonna make sure the commandos are only good for starting up the Bar B Que and not much more. Sad to say.

I am a master commando and I have tried that crap.... How did this guy get past the dizzy? How did he withstand the 2500 pts of damage each hit from this thing? I do not believe u.... I would like to see screenshots.
I do have screenshots of a master riflist taking out a juv solo... But is took him a long time and he used concealshot.

Ok...so the commando soloed a krayt, and then interfered with you while you used conceal shot to solo a krayt... You were soloing krayts without an AT-ST, and are complaining about that guy soloing krayts with an AT-ST. Hmmmmm...
Sounds to me like rifleman is the one who needs nerfing, eh?

This isn't a "commando" issue. Its an AT-ST issue.
1) Why was an AT-ST attacking a non-faction creature? Bug! This was supposed to have been fixed, but obviously it wasn't fully.
2) The commando himself did not "solo" this beast. You said it was being tanked.
Stop blaming professions with biased opinions. Everyone is too quick to place blame (i.e. scream nerf) instead of looking at what the REAL problem is.

I agree...there are a lot of holes in this story...
- ATST's are suppose to be only used for faction fighting these days as far as I know...using them to hunt was suppose to be removed...this is a bug...and I agree, it's not a Commando thing, it's an ATST thing...if the ATST was removed from the equation then the Commando would be dead...
- This is what bugs me more...the way the game currently sits, killing something via a Flame DoT does not grant you looting right, even if your DoT does the most damage...you sitll have to out damage the person by normal damage (this is something they are changing with the next patch to regrant looting rights)...So if the Commando ran up and DoT'd the creature, you still had a chance to retain looking rights if you could just out damage him...In fact, an added DoT could almost be seen as a helper since I have been in several hunting parties where I did the most damage thanks to my DoT, but other's got the looting rights thanks to doing the more actual non-DoT damage...They can shoot faster than I can and usually rack up more non-DoT damage faster...

Yes, how unrealistic to think that an armoredmetal tank and sheets of fire could even hurt such a monster. Its much more believeable that this fearsome beast would just stand around blinking and totally oblivious while some turd with a Rifle is usingconceal shotonhim over and over again.

So someone was killstealing and happened to be a Commando and he made you so sad that you rushed off to the Commandoforum to accuse us all of being "griefers/exploiters".

Okay, for my part I do consider taking a creature with a pet (faction or otherwise) to be "soloing". That said, as I read the post there arethree issues:
(i) that he was using an AT-ST as a tank against a Krayt, which was supposed to be fixed;
(ii) that the Krayt aggored the "concealed" rifleman, when the Commando ran in for the steal; and
(iii) that the Commando stole his kill, which is plainly the mark of an !*&#$(@.
Ignoring the faction pet issue and 6the aggro issue (as neitrher is a Commando point), I can see a potentially legitimate grievance against Commandos in that the Commando was able to cause enough damage to the creature to steal it from the poster. Since the DoT's don't count in the damage, though, most combat classes have the same shot at doing great damage (on a damage per second basis).What I am wondering, but do not kow for certain, is whether Pet damage counts for purposes of permissions. If it does, then I suspect that's how he was able to steal the permission.
If it does not, then I'd suggest that the postermight have won out by swtching to a higher dps weapon (taking into account the Krayt's resistances), or to more damaging specials tha conceal shot.
That said, anyone, commando or not, who steals kills well is a !*&#$(@, as the fact that you may want the loot does not mean that you are entitled to that loot, even if you can outdamage the people who've already engaged the creature.

Ok that is real bull**edit**, the definition of soloing means solo... as in no additional help. Any of the other professions including your basic marksman could 'solo' a krayt if there was an AT-ST holding it's attention. The fact is that commando's excell in this kind of situation where they are given the chance to fire away while others draw the attention of the enemy, that is the purpose of the profession.
