Seriously, how can they remove defense stacking when things like master ranger gets +10 to melee and ranged and I think entertainers get some?

What, are ranges defenses going to work only in that split instant they are throwing the trap? Yeah +10 is crap but still its there.

Or maybe, it will save the entertainersbutt when getting shot at while wielding a slitherhorn, purposely striking the wrong notes to make their opponents shiver in pain.

What about us? We get some crappy resists from our pre-reqs however, our commando weaponsare not versions of our pre-req version except for the LP but then again is the LP really ours or does that treally belong to pistoleers? Pistoleer is more needed for it.

Seriously, i would like to see them just cap it at like 90 or so, something that lets you have more than the highest individual profession through more skills but not enough to make you untouchable.

Im sure they will eventually change it so its weapon specific defense.. such as "pistol dodge" or 1-hand melee weapon dodge" instead of just "dodge."

This will make the game check the weapon you have in hand before applying the bonuses. Right now a fencer can get their dodge bonuses when holding a pistol even if they dont have pistoleer, due to the way the dodge skill works right now.

I can understand with dodge and stuff but from what I've seen in THs posts, its general defenses including melee/ranged and there is no ranger specific weapons, although I think it would be cool to give rangers a bow or something, I know it sounds primitive but so are katanas and axes. And for us, it being weapon specific, or any marksman class for that matter, its in ranged supposrt 4or master marksman where you get any, where would that fit?

As for the entertainers defense, im not sure but thats what I've heard. just wanted to clear that up befor I cause mis-information.

I think you will be able to stack different types of defenses. Actually, they are coming up with a way to put caps on the defenses. The example was given of "dodge". With the pistoleer/fencer template the generic dodge is so high they never get hit. They are just trying to cap that.

You mentioned Rangers and their +10 def mod. You will still be able to have that, +10 stun defense, +10 bleed, etc. The Devs are trying to get away from "unreasonably" high mods of a single type.

Master Dancers and Master Musicians each get +6 melee and +6 ranged defense. Kinda crappy, but better than nothing.

So, if I understand correctly, in the new system, your defense mods aren't added up anymore, you're just given the highest defense mod you have? Or does your defense mod change with the weapon one is holding? So wouldn't that make the little mods given by the entertainer professions, ranger and stuff like that totally useless? What is the one profession with the highest defense mods? Becuase if that's how the defense mod stacking is going to work, then we're going to see a lot of people going after that profession.

Edit: Oh wait... I see it's going to be caps on the mods, not a single mod. Ok, that's cool.

I had a Force sensitive character, with 23 and a half boxes ground out.
I had a master creature handler.
I had a high lvl crafter character.
I had a Bounty Hunter that I hunted PC Jedi with.

My game is dead.
