So, am I bugged or has no one else noticed this? Now granted, I think Squad Leader is ABSURDLY broken. Patheticly broken, I would even say. But surely someone else has noticed the XP bonus that being a Squad Leader gives your group for all combat-based XP? I see about a 33% increase in XP when I am Squad Leader (as opposed to just being in a group or soloing). In fact, I advertise that as a way to get people to join my Squad. Has anyone else come across this?

No I haven't, if this is true it must be something they added after the recent patch. I'll test it out later tonight when I log on.

It's been in the game for at least a few weeks. I noticed it the very first night I made Novice Squad Leader. I was in Moenia and being attacked by the thugs that spawn there, one at a time outside the Cantina. I was making about 600 XP per kill at the time. I added a friend of mine to my group to test out the awesome power of /sysgroup when I was agroed again. I automatically shot back and killed the thug for 800 XP. As a test, I left the group and got 600 XP again. Then I joined HIS group and still got 600 XP. So unless my character is magically bugged, I am pretty sure this works. He also said he was making 800 XP per kill when in my group, so I believe it works on other players in the group. It sure could use some testing, though. Report back what you find in this thread, maybe. Control conditions similar to the ones I used would probably be the best test, I will try again tonight if I can.

this has nothing to do with being a SL... it is a general grouping exp bonus.

ANY two people who group together will get more exp than they would solo from doing the same damage on the same mob.

Not true, Flook. Read his post again. When he joined his friend's group, he got no XP bonus.

I invited a fellow to my group so that he could train me in a Ranger skill while he was hunting mobs. After disbanding he asked if he could be invited again because he was getting 400 more xp for whatever it was he was killing while grouped with me. This held true even when I was on the far side of the planet from the guy.

Ok, tested it out and it seems to be a group thing and SL has nothing to do with it. They bumped up the XP for groups vs solo. Actually now that I think back a few patches, that's how it's always been, get a pet in the group and you get more xp for soloing a mob. If you're in a group with others attacking the mob, you get less xp then you would solo because they did dmg to it and took away from your dmg, but if you solo it in a group then you get the bonus.

It's always been a group thing. I had a friend I loaned a droid to just because he wanted/needed the extra combat xp.

Hmm...then how do you explain Aden's post that got less XP when he joined his friend's group...?

Well, combat Xp isalso based off damage from what I've seen. Do less damage, and you get slightly less combat XP as well. Could be he didn't do as much damage, or the mob had been attacked by something else previously.(That REALLY pisses me off when a capper spineflap attacks my levaisquall). More information is required.

+33% Earned EXP.... Nice that would get us groups fast

I went back in and checked it last night. . . dismay and unhappiness. I received the XP bonus in both directions, whether I was group leader or not. Perhaps I was bugged when I first got the Profession?

Perhaps we should propogate this myth anyhow to get people to let us be the group leader.
