Ok, I was really starting to get disappointed the last couple of days. During my long marksman grind I would consistently try differnt postures to determine the effect they had on combat (both numbers and playability). I keep coming back to the same conclusion. The posture doesn't increase you accuracy. On a higher level creature (i.e. yellow, orange, red con) I miss just as much from the prone as I do from the standing. (you may have noticed that the higher the creature, the harder to miss, which is why I have been testing on these things. It sure does make for an awful lot of incaps and deaths).
IS also noticed that I would only seem to get defense bonuses if I used the Range Support moves, I.E. tumbling. Just going prone did not seem to increase my range defense at all.
Ok ok. I can handle no defenses, but having no bonuses to accuracy? I checked and rechecked. Then I noticed something else. Your posture seems to give a bonus to damage! I need you guys to help me with this. Stop screwing around and grinding and lets get some honest to (insert deity) QA level testing done. Show the devs what we are truly made of.
Test your ranged attacks from all 3 positions using all 3 weapon types (pistol, carbines, rifles).
Pay close attention to the accuracy of your shots (% of misses), the damage you do, and the damage/misses the target deals to you.
This takes time and determination. You have to engage a creature, the go back through the combat log and add up each of the respective variables and get an average. I try to do this for 3 of the same mob. I.E. 9 nightspiders: 3weapons X 3posture = targets of equal level. For each spider I find the average of damage given, damage taken, %misses given %misses taken.
If you really good, and can find more, try to do this whole process 3 times (27 nightspiders).
Report back on your findings (I don't need numbers. I just want to know if I'm on crack about the postures increasing damage instead of accuracy)
and yes, I know I am making this more complicated than it needs to be.

after further testing it would seem I was wrong.
I am not seeing any damage increase with my specials from different postures.
The jury is still out on the accuracy bonuses though.
Truth is, I'm just not missing enough to get a good read.

Well the posture acc mod has gone anyway. I think its all based on your mods that u get for skill boxes.
I have tried different combos of range and posture. None made any difference.

/Agree with both the above posts. i was in a group with kav the other day and i would have to say for sure that i havent noticed any difference in damage or accuracy based on posture change.
