Thread: Is the damage really THAT far off???

in all honesty I think I do more with my pistol.

My DX2's speed is at 2.1 and I forget what the actual damage is but with the AP and speed bonus up to novice pistoleer I do about 550 damage in the time it takes to fire a flamethrower(at novice) which is about 5 seconds give or take .3 and at best you hit for 800 damage with the FT. Granted for both weapons this is all without specials.

So the immediate damage (lets call it shock damage since everyone is shocked by it) is obviously more then a DX2 but over the course of 10-20 seconds things start to look closer since you factor in missing and what not.

Now I am only novice commando so I cant speak for the 8K+ damage some of the specials are doing but as far as the base damage goes in all honesty the numbers seem fine, especially considering commando's have about 7X the prereq's that a pistoleer has(so our weapons SHOULD be better then yours). If FT specials are doing 8K damage then obviously the specials need to be adjusted and it looks like the PvP damage "may" need to be adjusted since some say its not subtracting the 75% it should be(all here say as of now) but again the base damage seems pretty much where it should be with all things considered.

No, the damage isn't that far off and doesn't need to be reduced or changed in anyway.

If they make any change to our weapons then they should tested it for six month like this last one

Man, if anything I think they still need to be increased. I don't have flame single 2 yet, but apparently if they fix the bug against rifle users (FT is apparently being considered a melee weapon and doing 3x dmg), FS2 will be doing about 5K damage with a 10 second delay. 500 dmg per second with your best specials? That's kinda weak.
