Thread: Nerf us?
What the hell?
To those pistoleers crying cause they got one shotted by a flamethrower, WAAAH, lets see you stand in front of a flamethrower in real life and get back up after one shot.
If you think we're too powerful in PvP, no offence a good rifleman with a T21 will blow my head off before I even get close to him with a flamethrower. The game isn't perfectly balanced but any master combat profession can take out any other if the user is good enough. You dont like the new flamethrower? Find yourself a good CH have him send in his happy little tank with heat resistsagainst me, then have your rifleman take my head out while I'm stuck fighting the monster, but oh my god, that might take teamwork, heaven forbid you cant handle everything and everyone by yourself, this is an MMORPG if you want an all powerful character that can kick everyones @$$ this ain't the game.
When the Jedi start showing up, are we gonna cry that they need to nerf the lightsaber?

If you are talking about the thread in the GSW forum check it again. One of the people involved responded to explain some things. Seems the original poster misrepresented some things.
The first hit for 6k damage wasn't done to a player. It was done to a pet. So wasn't subject to the PvP reduction. The person getting hit for the 3k damage was holding a rifle. So was subject to the 2.5 damage multiplier. Seems the flamethrower is still counting as melee damage for some reason. Expect this to get changed as in all likelyhood it's a bug.
So it seems the damage is where it is suppose to be. Congrat guys.

No kidding ? You really think in real life you'll survive a pistol shot in you head ?
Yeah the patch fixed many issue with Commandos and yeah, a flmaethrower should make huge dmg...but it is a mass target thing, not something you should be able to use to kill fast moving lone target or you're dead, not to mention a FlameThrower gets innate chance to just blow when you use it.
Jealous ? Well, a bit...but not jealous of your weapons, just jealous a patch can enhance 95% of players while nerfing the last ones, who still have important issue. As masters of pistols, we are the worst in game users of them...I'm pretty sure a Commando using a Scatter (hope this patch didn't gave you this cert :b) can kill a master Pistoleer.
Explain me exactly how this is possible in "real life" ?
So we are jealous because in a world of non sense, getting a gun with 1050-2300 dmg and 4.8 dly while our best gun is 89-142 dmg 2.2 dly with no working special move at all isn't fun at all, and we want to have fun like you.
Are we idiots to want to enjoy the game ?
Sorry Dyriel, have to disagree. I group often with a master pistoleer, and let me tell you its just sick what he can do. He is able to pump out so much damage...
Saying pistoleers are forgotten, or not good is a joke. Get master then see what you think.
With all of the accuracy penalties and the time delays I do not think that flamethrowers would need changing. I do not think that the melee damage type is a bug, since the flamethrower is a close-range weapon. Also, heavy weapons are called "Heavy" for a reason. If a "Heavy" weapon doesn't do more damage than a pistol, carbine, or rifle (all light class weapons), then it isn't really a heavy weapon.
Dyriel, you are wrong about flamethrowers. I know exactly how a flamethrower works and I have no idea where you got this "innate chance to blow" from. If need be I will explain it, but that is neccessary at this time.
To the clueless...the delay of 15 sec between specials stays from novice commando to master commando. It does not change..the only thing that changes is ourthe speed of non-specials shots and our acuaracy fromNovice to Master.
Break down:
Novice uses Special Flame thrower move...wait 15 sec between shots..can run, but unable to do ANYTHING (no heals, no using other weapons, no melee, no nothing) between shots.
Master Commandouses Flame Thrower Special move...SAME things...must wait 15 sec between shots..can do nothing but run
However at Master you have a greater chance of hitting and if you do not use specials, you do fire faster.
We get 4 specials with the flamer (Flame 1, Flame 2, Flamecone 1, Flamecone 2)
and we get 4 specials with the Acid Rifle (Acid 1, Acid 2, AcidCone 1, Acid Cone 2)
That is it..........oh and at Heavy weapons support 3 we get the lightning Beam Cannon Cert.
Now when using the charged weapons..here a Master Commando and a Novice Commando differ. At Master they most likely will hit and shoot much faster, where a Novice is pretty much just throwing cash out the window (25 charges for 25K).
Yes SOE needs to fix the Flame Thrower and the melee issue, but we have told them that over and over, in fact I submitted 2 tickets personally on this issue since I have been playing with no results, as have many other Commandos.
Plus there are alot of other fixes still need to be made to the commando that have been ignored, such as laying prone with a HW (nice graphics on that one)....ALL of this has been reported.
Now a final note..I grp with a master Rifleman almost daily. He uses a T-21, and when he uses his AE, in one shot does almost DOUBLE my damage still...we tested it out last night.
Master Pistolier is even worse, they can take a mob down (6K HAM) before it even reaches them and I am just firing my FIRST SHOT.
So please folks, stop trying to be the only classes (Rifleman, Pistolier) that can actually do anyhting by trying to get us nerfed when you have ABSOLUTELY no freaking clue what the hell you are talking about.
Before Commandos see a nerf, trust me..the Rifleman and Pistoliers will get nerfed.
To the clueless...the delay of 15 sec between specials stays from novice commando to master commando.
Ok, then it doesn't work like the other specials in the game that are based on the speed of the weapon after bonuses.
