OK dumb question in 2 parts...

I picked up Novice Medic, I can use Stim pack A's. And can craft A's. What about B's and C's. Can I use them? I know I can't craft them, but what about using them, I see them on vendors alot.

OK second question, I'm getting ready to train in my first box of...? Should I train in First Aid, or another box. If I'm just planning on be a spot healer using StimPacks, and not invest alot of points in Medic.

At novice medic you can use B stims. Those are much better than A stims. You need PharmacologyIII (I think) to use C stims. To MAKE B stims you need Organic Crafting III, which isn't that hard to do.

If you want to use B stims only then I would say go with First Aid skill. If you want to make your own you will need OCIII as well. If you want C stims, get to PharmaIII.

Can someone fill me in on the acid rifle? Is a heavy acid rifle the cert we get at Novice? Not sure what I should be buying.

Ok, I see don't talk to the new bandwagon guy!!

But this is weird, in-game my cert say "rifle acid beam" But some character builder sites show novice gets "Heavy acid rifle" cert. I've seen heavy acid rifles for sale and see people in this forum talking about them being new.... so is this the rifle to get at Novice?

lol, you're asking for attention from a group of guys that have been begging for attention for 2 months and finally got it, i think we're all busy rejoicing that we are no long Master Marksmen.

Now, to answer your question, the cert. is misspelled, it should read Heavy Acid Rifle Certification. So yes, this is the certification you get at Novice for the new HAR.

But with advanced components, is it true that you can use one of these in place of a regular component in any of the crafting shematics?

Absolutely. Anywhere a schematic calls for a given subcomponent, you can throw in an advanced version of that subcomponent. The subcomponents (basic and advanced) are identical for schematic purposes - the advanced ones are just more powerful.
