Thread: Heavy Acid Rifle and a waste of 3 skill boxes
Just got trained in Acid 1-3 last night, went to visit some peeps on Dant, ran across a veritor tracker, checked resists, vulnerable to acid, looked at the stats on the Acid Rifle versus my Flame and thought, "OK, similar speed, can hit the little guy with AcidSingle1 a couple of times, heal myself, couple more, heal and cool...
When I first started using the FT, I was surprised by the vulnerability/inactivity time after a flame special. Used to spamming ranged specials, I got incapped a few times before adjusting. Nothing in that prepared me for the dead period after using AS1. It seemed like 3 times the delay that I have after FS2. What is up with that??? The little beast incapped me, but no deathblow, got up saying, "I must have done something wrong." and started the process again. After the first delay, which seemed like 10-12 seconds, I switched to FT and toasted the little bizastard. I don't know if I will ever dare use the HAR again.
What is up with the delay???
Any clarification/input is appreciated.

newly adopted moto, "Don't do Acid, it can get you killed."
Hmmm.
Suggest you check some of the threads here in commando land. Especially the lastest request by TH for input on the 5 things we commandos think need to be fixed. It will be a real eye opener for you.
Suffice it to say that the HAR is a broken weapon from top to bottom. Ok in concept i suppose but very poor in execution.
Absolutely correct...HAR is broken and the whole tree pretty much useless...In all honesty, the ONLY current reason you should get the Acid tree is if you want to be a Master Commando...if you don't plan on beign a Master Commando, don't waste the skill points...Until the last patch I had everything but the Acid Tree...I used those extra skill points in the CH category...as soon as the patch made Master Commando worthwhile I finally get my Acid Tree done...
So again, only advance in the Acid tree if you want Master Commando...if not...don't waste the pts.
