Thread: FT speed or damage?
with spd, its nice since you can get more DPS..
..but there are times when you will hav e to make 1 or 2 REALLY worthwhile blows otherwise your toast..good spd, and very good damage, in my opinion is better
4.5 spd for an FT isnt really really slow, but its not fast either..but 4.5 spd @ 500-1000 dmg..now thats not bad...of course there are krayt FT's out there that are below 4 spd and have nearly 1k dmg too..but for regular ones, a balance between spd and damage is always a nice idea...and besides our FT spd increases as we go up in commando anyways
i used to think speed. but now that i have flamesingle 2 i gotta say damage. reason being a higher damage weapon means more damage on the specials, and since you don't get to do another action aftera special having more speed won't matter. so if you use specials then damage is more important, if you just shoot and don't use specials then speed would be better.
so either can be good but i think damage is slightly better than speed.
You want both; one for each type of circumstance, PVP and PVE. PVE you want a flamer that is geared for speed as you can apply your 3 flame specials faster(they stack). For PVP you want the flamer that is geared for damage because in most instances you might outright kill them and with the speed flamer in PVP you might not get the chance to apply your second flame special because of them moving and what not.
I have this exact setup and works really well. The more burns you can apply on a high HAM creature the faster you can take it down and the more initial damage you can do in PVP the faster the fight will be over with.
I know this issue has been beatin up, but I talk to a lot of people and it still seems like a split decision. I have always used a damage sliced FT for a larger DOT on mobs, but I think I prefer speed for PvP. Thoughts?
