Commando Archive

Sorry for such a daft question, I'm quite new and I can't come up with my second profession to couple it with Pistoleer.. I'm interested in BH, Squad Leader and Commando, but at the current state of the game Commando seems to be the most interesting one at the moment. The question is; is there reason to be an imperial commando? From my understanding commandos specialize against armores vechiles and the only armored thing I can think of is AT-ST, and I won't be shooting many AT-ST:s now, will I? So is there really any reason to make a Commando as an Imp?

Also sorry, I bet this have been asked before too.. I just couldn't find an earlier post of it.

rumor is rebels are getting some kind of tank, so an imp commando would be anti those.

concerning imp commados:

atm it looks like commando is more of a rebel profession than an imperial one. Imperial commandos could be used against large masses and creature pets in PvP but as it looks like, you're better off with Squad leader (still broken as hell, but will be addressed pretty soon as well, maybe even in the next patch). I am Squad leader myself and if you have a group you play alot with, you will be a tremendous asset. Squad leaders by the way, are a good weapon against AT-ST killers, as "Boost Morale" averages the damage dealt over all group members, so just be sure the AT-ST is grouped.

Commando skills are required to take over faction npc bases and to destroy faction pc bases so yes you are useful as an imperial.

Rebels are getting a tank? Could you please give a link for that or something i'd like some info on it.

Commandos will also be able to take out turrets with relative ease as the stats are now.

eww rebels getting a tank... well that kills us imperials alittle more on my server. our server is full of rebels and very little imperials. being a minority sucks

I have yet to hear of, be it rumor or not, anything of a rebel Tank, and it is mostly cheese.

For the most part, we don't hear or see anything about an Imp. Commando in the films, but I'm sure there is a story or two in the EU garbage to support this idea. It would of been nice to have a faction only class, IE Rebel commando or an Imp Field Commander, calling in Tie Bomber airstrikes and such, with capability to get an arial view of the field to plot most effective countermeasures against rebels. As it stands rebels have numbers where as Imps have artillery, so these two professions would of seemed logical, though discriminating.

i highly doubt the rebels will get a tank, if anything they will allow for airspeeders once vehicles come out but i dont think the rebels will have a pet tank. The rebels were good in space but at ground combat they were never a match for the empire. Anyway to answer the question, though the heavy weapon support line is mostly anti armor weapons there are other weapon there, also the grenades if they get some speed and accuracy will likly make good anti infantry weapons, just look at the proton grenades. Problem is right now almost everyone is looking at every profession 1 deminshionally and not looking at the whole thing, there will be a use for imperial commandos but the choice is really up to you.
