Thread: Weapons question, too many varying answers
Hi all, i really didnt research becoming a commando, but decided to go for it. I am now a novice commando and have the ultimate question with too many different answers: What weapons can a commando use???? If some one can tell me exactly what weapons a commando can use (from novice to master commando)please list them ALL, or point me to a website to answer the question.
Thank you all in advance,
Frotarr
Novice Commando:
C22 Fragmentation Grenade. An improvement over the Light (C12) frag grenade, but not huge.
Launcher Pistol. Uses pistol skills and specials, non consumable.
Flamethrower. You're fresh out of the academy with this one, you have no specials, no bonuses.
Heavy Acid Rifle (Cannon). Same as Flamethrower.
Rocket Launcher. Same as the previous two, you really suck trying to use it till you improve the HvyWeap tree.
Only two other trees grant additional weapons. Those are Heavy Weaps, which coincidently grant the consumable Heavy Weapons, and Combat Tact (? the first tree, don't remember) that grants the different grenades.
Gaining skills in Heavy Weapons increases your ability with the Rocket Launcher as well as the other three consumable heavy weaps.
Gaining skills in Flame or Acid gives you your Specials to use with those weapons which are about *the* most critical thing you need.
My advice? Get Flame 1 FIRST. That grants you a special that does 3k to 4.5k damage and adds one of the nastiest DOTs in the game.
Actually you can answer this one yourself. Pull up the commando skill tree and click on the different skill levels in each tree. At the bottom it will show you what items each level certifies you for, among them which weapons each level allows you.
Try this:
Hit CTRL-S
Select your Commando skill tree
Highlight each one and read the certifications. Certifications tell you what weapon you can use effectively.
Or maybe you didn't buy the optional skill tree packagefrom SOE? Didn't you get the memo?
