Is it me or there's a relatively low number of commando bandwagonners?

I mean did they finally realized that the damage that commandos do is balanced by the long delays and such, and that it's not the uber end all be all of PVP professions and that it's not worth it as a leetboi?

A lot of them are stuck on getting the unarmed xp needed for commando.

I had to tell a couple friends who wanted to go to commando for some time now that after getting unarmed they still needed 40k combat xp.

It's a long road fella's. Good luck to my friends out there.......you know who you are

1). the unarmed xp is a tough row to hoe.

2). apprentice points for Master Marksman are increasingly rare.

I have a character on Scylla all ready to go Commando when I get the last 400 apprenticeship for Master Marksman. In the meantime, I trained Smuggler to have something to do while I look around for padawans.

MAster Smuggler here, so getting Commando was easy enough. Got Novice on Sunday, need 4 more Boxes until master now. I wouldn't say we are very balanced, I would say too damaging still. I hit something for 20k Dmg earlier today.

The crazy amount of damage we do is related to a "bug/exploit/whatever" that makes the NPC's think we are using melee weapons.

Just take a look at the combat chat. When I fire my HAR, it says

You SWING at (insert target name here) for (insert damage here).

Iwas already planning on "going commando" before the patch. It was pretty easy being smuggler so it was a matter of just reaching master marksman. And I agree the unarmed specialist requirement is discouraging many bandwagon commandos.

I thnk this may be the case - I see MANY people on Eclipse practicing unarmed and most have the "Master Marksman" title. Some may be going smuggler or even TKA, but I strongly suspect that there will be an influx of Novice Commandos over the next month or so. I'd love to see Holocron's profession statistics!

Note that I do not judge here. I think the profession is quite well balanced, and the high damage is offset by the "set-up time" between attacks. Gotta love that flame thrower!

Guess I'm one, or not, hell i dunno. I made Commando about the third week of the game being live, got up to flame2 using my 260ish max damage flamethrower, waited a bit for fixes, got tired of waiting and dropped it(along with brawling) and decided to try something else while they removed their thumbs from their butts. I did have enough forsight to keep master marksman tho, and still had enough unarmed xp to relearn unarmed1 and half of 2. Bad part was unarmed2-4, took me about two days grinding off and on with my sister-in-law healing me with her Dr/CM.

Sad part is I have the feeling that commando's will be "adjusted" soon, but I won't drop it again. I forgot how much fun it was even before when they sucked.

MY Moral: I like makings things go "boom".
