Thread: What skills best accompany commando
Is more medic the way to go? What about rifleman? Should I pick up some scout for Exploration?
Curious. Where are other Master Commandos (or aspiring Masters) putting their remaining 81 skill points? & Why?
I've found that Freethought IV and Dowhatyoulike III have had done serious good to my overall battle effectiveness.
Ok, in all seriousness, as commandos, we have a gift of gaining combat at an insane rate, so, I picked up TK novice and spent all my combat points on ranged and melee defense, everything else was unnessecery in that branch because our weapons are already melee. I picked up Novice Rifleman with sniping I, for sake of using a T21 (still not available on SS, but im watin), because of it's AR rating against at-sts and anything else that wont go down, and PVP use of a rifle isnt as frustraiting as some punk doing the stimpack spam and never going down, (happened on Lok one time, never forgave myself for not mindshotting him)
Hey, and if you really have a grudge, mindshot some boob, when he falls over, be standing there with your flamesingle ready for him when he stands up...ultimate grief because of the wounds FT causes
Sure folks say pick up pistoleer, the LP with stopping show owns, but those people are...eh, you decide. I picked up rifleman, because most people are apt to charge a rifleman rather than run, and the closer they get, the sooner I can give them the flamesingle2 hose. If you pull a rifle, mobs are more likely to pull a rifle, then you can switch to FT and give them the melee zonk.
Get scout skills Terrain neg. No questions there
For the most part, our weapons are already melee,(sure this will change soon) but I saw no need to haveAdvanced TKand Commando, because what good is a double melee class when most people live to Kite TK's and Commandos.
Hey, this was just what I did, and im sure some troll will get on and say something like "Ahaha don't you know riflemen suck unless you are master!!!!" And yeah, sure I was a monkey that jumped on for the T21, or prospects there for...but until HW's take almost 3X, I'll stick with my setup
ok, have fun and don't shoot your eye out
Twowords: CH. All you have to do is grab hunting and exploration 4 (which is a breeze since all you have to do is harvest everything you kill) and then get a few things in CH and bingo, you've got an awesome pet to tank for you while you roast the guy with your flamethrower
. Right now, i have creature training II and i use a graul mauler, 9700 ham 300 something attack. Trust me, works very well and doesn't take up too many skill points

So far, I'm not yet a novice commando, but here is what I'm learning. I have Survival 2, but I might drop to survival 1, I have exploration 3, this is a must if you want to be able to move around in the wild. I have first aid 2, and pharmacology 2. I will be learning the 3 tier for both of those. You do not necessarily need Pharm at all though. I found stim B's on the bazaar that only require 5 points of medicine use, and they heal about 400 apiece. Plus with a high first aid skill the amount you heal increases dramatically. I have novice artisan so I can build wind power generators so I can sell the energy to make money on the side(I recommend this to all), and I'm thinkking about novice pistoleer just for health shot 2. I hope that helps.
Soulcrusher: Soon to be Novice commando on Sunrunner.
