Is the xp for heavy weapons supposed to be half of normal xp? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but while killin stalkers with my flamethrower only, I get 2500-2700 xp max. I switched over to tk to see how much xp I was gettin from that and got 5k. Just started commando so not sure if its supposed to be like that.

kill quenkers... it's the best way to do it... with a speed sliced flamer single2 kills them in 1 hit 99% of the time.

The best way to get heavy weapons xp is either one, get FD from smuggler, and set things on fire, and the play dead until the fire gets them
or 2 get novice BH and pick up the pistol line, and use a launcher pistol to kill things until you get at least flame 3. launcher pistols use pistol mos but give HW experience. you can later drop BH if you want to, but while you are still going up commando, the terrain negotioan you get from its prerequ will save your skin more often than not. Also, one last thing, If you get the heavy weapons support line, and are a rebel If you kill an at-st with rocket launchers. (eat snowcake for better accuracy), you get a full 5k worth of xp. It's very expensive for the xp gained. But its Very gratifing to blow things up. Hope this helps

Whatever you do dont let the flame DOT do your work, DOTs no longer count towards xp or damage and as such you dont get xp for it, only for the damage u do directly. As for grabbing pistoleer skills it can be helpful if you want to use the launcher pistol to get your xp but regular fire on a speed sliced flamer is just as good imo, sure you miss but every1 misses on times.
