Thread: Master doc + Master commando?

Id like your opinions on this template. Right now my alt is M Doc / M Rifles with some left over points into entertainer for gettin the insp buff out to me and my friends asap so we dont have ot og looking for one. Master rifles is really nice on the damage, and its pretty much a self contained profession, meaning that i dont really need to take another combat profession and i have plenty of points left over for master doc.


The heavy weaps in commando look so cool, id like to give them a try but the damage has to be there. If its not, that character really dosent have anything to fall back on besides healing. I noticed that when you level up, the commando dosent get any specials? so id be useing marksmann specials with the heavy weaps 90% of the time. I was thinking M doc / M commando /0044 marksman ( for rapid fire at least) .

Because Commando has no specials, it can not stand alone as your only combat profession. Marksman specialssimply will not do. Anyway, it is almost entirely broken right now so it would bepretty muchjust a waste of skillpoints. Ido not recommend that template unless you are willing to sacrifice nearly all of your damage dealing ability for the chance to use some cool looking weapons.


As if I haven't made myself clear enough, about the only combat profession that comes close to drawing as much aggro as healers is commando. All of our weapons are supposed to have a "blast" radius, however only one point of damage actually"splashes." It's just one of the major bugs that we are currently enduring.

A pure Carbineer can function reliably.

A pure Bounty Hunter can function reliably.

A pure Rifleman can function reliably.

A pure Pistoleer can function reliably.

A pure Commando CANNOT function reliably.

Even more so if you don't dump other combat skills to make Commando better, if that's even possible.

Marksman specials are fine with commando, provided you're fast enough that is. Actually, considering the SAC on most PFT's ranged shot gets a lot of use. The problem is, while doc will add +40 to your speed, you're still gonna be slowwww without some support from a profession that can give you some general ranged speed, or at the least FS ranged speed, and some skill tape help. Most of the commando weapons felt painfully slow untilI broke 120 spd. After that, they started to make a decent impact.The problem here is, without the grenade line helping like it really should, with real state effects that last longer than 2 secs, oh say like every other profession gets, you'll have exactly a weak flame DOT that sometimes sticks, and always produces "zombie attackers" (the walking, flaming dead that continue to attack), a nice ranged KD, and a weapon that blinds.... everything.... including you.... Seriously, with the hate engine the way it works now, you won;t be able to handle the level of hate healing AND weak area damage is going to land you in. Some templates work really, really well by offsetting strengths. Commando/Docdoesn't strike me as one of those.


On a related note,I have some skill points I can free up. I wonder what the skill point cost is on novice exorcist soI can slay the flaming zombie freaks my plasma flame thrower creates without wasting anyfurther attacks on them... oh, oh, maybe novice necromancer. I could send a virtual army of flaming storm trooper corpses bounding at my enemies, impervious to all damage as long asI can keep them burning... oh, the possibilities...


now, if I can just get that flame DOT to stick more reliably, my army of the dead will be invincible
