When the new damage mitigationchages hit I'll be dropping master marksman and commando and going master TK.
For right now though I am loving using the lag pistol to panic/lowblow people with *laughs*. The flamethrower is great for hunting big game when I am in a group too. All in all I'd say its neat sometimes but TK is probably a better compliment to smuggler pistoleer.
It really nice when you can panic shot that kryat dragon then sneak into range and give him the burn. Works nice on Kimos too.

Commando in reality = Broken AOE, Nades that laugh at you when they explode, weps that have no where near the damage as the counterpart offensive 5 Rifleman, Master Wep that doesn't Area Aggro comes off a 92 CL Creature and is a Rare drop ((plus it's broken!)), etc..etc..etc..
I've been a commando/smuggler for soo long now it ain't funny...In it's current state I can take on a lot of things solo, 1 on 1, with the current state of concussion shot and the various smuggler specials, but seeing as how there's no specials "commandos" can call their own..i'm pretty much left to fight for a long time until the creature dies of boredom...he usually falls over right at the end from laughing so hard...then he croaks when he can't breathe...
I love commando/smuggler...but in the state that "BOTH" professions are in now, you'd probably be better off with pistoleer/smuggler or rifleman/smuggler

PFT is great in PvP. I've hit up to 8 people at once with Concussion Shot, and people on fire still get pretty nervous.
Same goes for Thermal Detonators, but I've yet to get my hands on Imp Detonators to try the Area KD.
Ovensively it isn't much of an upgrade from just Master Smuggler, but the area effects and the utility are cool.
I was thinking of just grabbing the ranged def and off from Commando
I just noticed i never use my Pistoleer moves I use my smuggler moves lol.
Then again the Pistol bonus's might be helpful .
