I am almost at 0030 and I know you get Flamer cert there. I am not lvl 40 though. So, if I get to 0030 can I use the flamer if I am not lvl 40? Thanks in advance!

No idea my friend, I've been a master commando long before the CU so I've always had the luxury of the certificates. I would assume you need both the box and the level 40 though =(

In the other professions, weapons that have a level and specific skillbox requirement are set up so that if you have the box, you are guaranteed to have at least the level required for the weapon.
I haven't looked into the commando stuff specifically, but if it isn't that way, I'd say it is probably worth /bug-ging.

no you won't. YOu have to meet the requirments, you might have the cert for the FT but if you are not certified on the level you will get a message saying you aren't able to use the weapon

Plasma Flamer is a Master Commando/CL54 level weapon only... you can use a "light" flamer or something before master, but I hear it's no good.
