this idea is a little more base of the commando of republic commando


requirements master marksman : reason the amount of training required be a command

requirement one tree in medic : all soldiers should know first aid

requirement one tree in scout: basic survial training

novice commando : just starting defence, basic weapon certifieds, a mask scent against npcs only

tree 1 : survial tree,combat first aidand the mask scent or stealth:combat xp

tree 2 : basic weapons this will cover, carbines, pistols, and rifles: combat xp

tree 3 : heavy weapons launchers, throwers, and the likes : heavy weapons xp

tree 4 : combatmanuvers : genades,defences, bonus to-hit, speeds, and accurry : combat xp

master commando : bonus for being master and the likes : combat xp


new add ons: would be first aid abilites : recitate, from death ; indues, if incap time is 2 seconds

new add ons: would be survial abities : mask scent or stealth only against npcs , take a breather ; allow a short time of healing as though one were in a cantina or hospital.

new add ons: would be master commando : enemy technilogy allows the use of any ranged weapon drop in games at the lowest requirements.


as said at the begining, this is mostly base off the republic commando game.

I had a similar idea:


Demolitions:Grenades and other explosives as well as harm minimisation from such weapons


Heavy Weapons:burning, melting, detonating at range etc. As is now but fixed AoE, each Heavy Weapon cirt at a different level of Heavy Weapons. Assault armour cirt.


Small Arms: An ability for each type of small arm and one h2h when holding a weapon. Because a Commando should be able to use any military type weapon. Battle armour cirt.


Covert Operations: Behind enemy lines type tactics and survival. Maybe even crafting of basic Commando weapons, or maybe not. A survival line from Scout instead of the useless h2h line pre-req would be put in. Recon armour cirt.

I like Commandos as they are now, but I can see the greatness of these ideas, and they make alot of sence. On the first glance, commando just seems like an addon for other ranged classes... Hm... I don't think teaching them healing and survival is a good idea though, that would suddenly change Commando from the cool weapon class into the, high ranking officials...? Would you need to be a commando in order to achieve a high rank in your faction too? Makes sence to me, sence all high ranking militaryofficials are well rounded and battle ready. /snicker Sorry, didn't intend this as a flame.


Anywho, sence I don't have a grand idea of my own... I'll just request that you ask for smaller changes, big changes make many people mad. Like myself for example... And I don't think many people would be happy if Commandos suddenly gained 3x the skills and only needed 1 tree for what they already have, especially the Jedi, they'd see us gain this power and come crying nerf nerf! And we all know how muchthey love the Jedi...


*poke poke* Oh yeah, and you said give them a hand2hand ability, and then take out the hand2hand skill requirement to become a commando... Self-anihilating idea right there.

Hey you have a point but then Firearm Strike doesn't require any h2h abilities either That's the sort of thing I meant.


My commando ideakeeps a lot of what is already there and just adds a bit more 'commando' feel to it I think. Atm it's more like a heavy weapon cirt tacked onto other ranged professions. This way there would actually be some specials to use and worthwhile abilities.


I mean our weapons are pretty much all broken and the Commando get's no specials at all.
