Thread: Good news (for me) and a question
Congrats on the attainment of novice commando. I'd follow Galen's advice. Get a launcher pistol as they can use the pistol specials. Maybe also get novice pistoleer so you can get the double bleed off of it. Then go with the flamethrower. The acid rifle is still kinda busted in that it's really inaccurate, has the modifiers broken in the middle of the tree, and the specials don't do DOTs like the flamer does. Grenades are fun, but that's about it, they aren't terribly effective. The munitions stuff is pretty cool, but expensive and inaccurate at first. If you want to do GCW stuff, get heavy weapons I and that will allow you to participate in base raids.
Good luck on your journey!
I have to say this is one of the better forums go commandos. This morning I made novice commando. Woot. I was wondering what weapons give what XP? A bit broke as of late so I was wondering if I should save and get a FT or the LP? Depending on the answer to the XP question will give me my answer.
I have the HAR from the Jabba missions but from what I am reading it hardly seems worth it.
Also any words of wisdom for a novice commando?
Thanks Wiin (ahazi)
I would personally reccomend getting yourself a good Launcher Pistol and start working on your Flamethrower Tree. Once you get Flamesingle one you can start to dish out soem heavy damage through both the inital attack as well as DOT from burn. With a flamethrower and a reliable tank you shoudl be able to wastch your EXP skyrocket and start enjoying yourself. Of course keep that Launcher Pistol handy be cause you never know when you may need it, although it may not be as powerful as a Flamethrower it can begin to prove useful.
I would suggest holding off on using the other weapons until you get further up the trees, the disposiable ones can be very harsh on the pocket book and you dont want to go missing 4/5 shots. Maybe if you can find soemoen selling crates of C22 Fragmentation Grenades and give them a toos every so oftento boot your combat exp.
Other than that take a look through the commando guide thats a sticky post, its got the best info hands down on how to get through the early stages of the commando profession!
