I'm a rifleman, I use a pet, I tear things apart (although T21 needs fixing). Commando's are not snipers. They have to work harder to GET to novice commando, and they are SUPPOSED to be machines of death. I like hunting with commandos. They're weakness lies in they're one shot one kill problem. They SHOULD NOT have the 2.5xmelee damage penalty. I want my group tanks back.

I hope you guys get fixed soon, so we can go out and burn/mindshot everything to death again soon.

good luck guys

Thank you for your cool headed support. I run with a rifleman and I have become the useless member of the tandum. If the Devs wanted everyone to use the BH/CH template they could not have come up with a better way of directing traffic in that direction.

Thanks for the support!

I also run with a rifleman who is a good friend of mine. As a Commando, I was hoping to keep the angry beasts off of the rifleman. But I am sure we all know how things turned out last night.

I like commandos in my groups, too. Heavy hitters for sure!

But "tank"? No. That's the melee's job. Or the CH's.

CHs....i wont go there.

When you are limited to 17meters for your special, very much like some 15m attacks for Teras Kasi, that doesnt make you a very ranged class. Yes we can fire these regular commando weapons at 64, and do some punishment, but up close is our forte with them. the damage multiplier penalizes that. But you have to realize you can deal that exact same damage from afar: enter the HPBC and RL. Heavy armor piercing, and on my server 1900-3500 or so damage. +70 to speed, +60 to accuracy, i fear no monster that isnt coming after me, it doesnt stand a chance. Look at all of your options, and dabblers who are just FT4, shouldnt post.

Heavy weapons with good high end damage run from 30k to 60k for 20-30 shots. That is not a solution. I don't make anywhere near that kind of money. The medium-low grade HWs can cost between 5k to 10k and not have a hell of a lot of damage to justify wasting any money on.

That's why Commandos need to be real friendly to us weaponsmiths. I'm a carbineer/weaponsmith and my commando/smuggler buddy make us the perfect tandem.

I agree. I am a rifleman, and I run with a commando, and we were a pretty effective team prior to the patch. His ability to get close and light them up while set back where I am supposed to be and fire a coordinated attack allowed us to quickly subdue many tough targets, and, when timed right, we ended up spreading the XP pretty evenly. Even then, we could not just walk from, for instance, Tortur to Tortur. He would take hits and damage that needed to be recovered. But now, with 2.5x the melee damage, we cannot do that. It is ridiculous, as I have said elsewhere, to force people to be within melee range to use their weapon's ideal range, then apply a 2.5x penalty for doing so is asinine.

This change CANNOT stand.
